General Information


Thread: German sniper survivability23 Oct 2013, 17:51 PM I agree that the German sniper should have his HP bumped to 80. But also reduce his armor back to 1. This way he is more resilient against AOE, the same vs small arms. He is currently already VERY powerful in the metagame. I build one every game as germans. Got 65 kills once. In: COH2 Balance

AI ability is extremely important to both 1on1 and 2on2. Infantry is what caps the map. If you want map control, you need to kill infantry and drain MP. This is why I never, EVER, build panthers or stugs. When I'm playing Germans, it's always Ostwind, P4, or Tiger. And I'm no noob. I always build AT guns when I go T3 with Soviets. It's a no brainer. Molotovs and rifle grenades are (often) micro checks that out weigh the importance of positioning. A Guard's nade can instantly wipe out 3 gren models. A single rifle nade can instantly wipe out 4 Guards in heavy cover. I personally have very decent micro and I'm pretty good at dodging nades, but it's not a gameplay mechanic that I really enjoy. You seem to want Soviet tanks to be AT focused like German tanks. This game is deigned to be asymmetrical. It would be boring as hell if both sides had the same units. You should be building AT guns or SU85s against Tigers and Panthers. The role of T34s in this game is infantry support. Ram already has over 50% chance of disabling a tiger from the front, which is pretty ridiculous. I've never had a time when I felt I couldn't handle German tanks with Soviet T3 as it is. Not the most efficient use of resources, don't you think? I mean, just compare the cost of it to the T70. It costs 40 more manpower than that infantry killing beast and has no weapons by itself whatsoever. I'm not saying it's completely useless but it's pretty hard to find a place for it in the vast majority of situations. This call-in and the Stug-E have too high of an opportunity cost (delayed T3 -> Ostwinds/Panzer IVs) versus the minimal utility they bring to the table (do not really fill any major gaps in the German arsenal). Compare these call-ins to the Mortar Halftrack and you'll see what I mean. Frankly, this is actually a related issue to the M3 being a bit underpowered because both have a very limited window of usefulness before they are completely outclassed by tank spam or rendered a liability due to other AT. It's only a good deal if you do zero teching. In: COH2 Balance

The rear MG stat surprised me, always figured that as far inferior The catch is that the M3 always try to face the enemy so the rear is only shooting when you are running away, which I presume will give you 0.5 accuracy.
