Also, Shocks are meaningless in this discussion because they are doctrinal, whilst Pgrens most certainly aren't. It'd be more accurate to compare the relative benefits of Penal units to Pgrens. Thread: Maxim + Zis Spam7 Nov 2013, 10:35 AM Incendiary mortar shells screw things up a lot for us Soviets as well. I absolutely hate them. (in other words, use them, they're great) 10.5 cm plays merry hell with these kinds of strats, brummbars too. Flanking Panzers screw things up a lot. The greatest strength of the maxim/AT gun strat is having time to set up and prepare fields of fire + mines. Any kind of indirect fire (or even softening up attacks with inf maybe) which puts it out of joint begins to really tell. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Towing at guns and others5 Nov 2013, 11:22 AM I've wanted to run an entirely mechanised Soviet army with lots of half tracks and infantry, but it always falls down when I realise the AT guns are stuck miles behind when I need them in action immediately... I'd love towable AT guns to be implemented. (in fact, they should be towable by any vehicle tbh) In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Double A-grens... what to do...?3 Nov 2013, 13:45 PM Just got owned again on Road to Kharkov... This time not by AGs but by your bog standard Ostheer... the writing is on the wall for me. Clearly German meta has moved on without me catching up... I don't know what to say but I've had nothing but crappy defeats. Despite 200 + hours this game clearly isn't for me. Looks like I'll have to leave it to the pros to work out. It feels like the German players have worked out exactly how to get the best out of the units now which is bad news for the average Soviet Ivan like me... In: COH2 Gameplay
