After all it should be an increase of 4% to its DPS and of 4% to its suppression. its actually a 4.5-4.9% dps increase dependin on range. and heres the suppress and pin times with the bulletin: mg42 with 4% rate of fire bulletin: time to suppress ≈ 2.13 seconds near and 4.43 seconds far time to pin ≈ 6.85 seconds near and 14.28 seconds far id say this is one of the best mg bulletins there is. ill leave it up to you if you think its worth it. Thread: 0 CP call-ins - design principals28 Sep 2013, 18:09 PM Jump back to quoted post28 Sep 2013, 13:26 PM=][=mmortal AG's and ostheer should be supplements, not replacements for the rest of the german infantry units. im going to have to disagree with this, atleast for assault grens (osttruppen really do need support). i was under the impression that this doctrine is meant to allow germans to skip t1 without relying solely on pios. the linear german teching can get quite boring, so i am really hoping they make this viable again. soviets have quite a few options in the early game. they can build t1/t2 early or they can stay t0 and spam cons, build t1 just to tech, and rush t3 or t4 is another option. germans on the other hand have only two real options. build t1, or build 2-3 pios and hope you dont lose the map waiting on t2. i think allowing for more variation in starting builds is good for this game. this makes the game less repetitive for the player and his opponent. more variation also makes the early game less predictable. Thread: Undocumented changes to MG42?28 Sep 2013, 17:52 PM mg42: time to suppress ≈ 2.23 seconds near and 4.63 seconds far prepatch ≈ 2.36 near and 4.90 far time to pin ≈ 7.18 seconds near and 14.92 seconds far prepatch ≈ 7.08 near and 14.71 far maxim: time to suppress ≈ 1.51 seconds near and 3.05 seconds far prepatch ≈ 1.32 near and 2.67 far time to pin ≈ 7.56 seconds near and 15.27 seconds far prepatch ≈ 6.62 near and 13.36 far so the mg42 is now slightly faster to suppress, probably not 1 burst though. it actually pins a little slower though. You will have a lot less explaining to do so which one do you think is simpler to understand? just simply having a list of the bonuses? or doing the math for people? both are simpler in a way. the first is simpler for me to add, but its also easier to see what the vet bonus actually is. the second is simpler in that people dont have to fully understand stats or do the math themselves. for example, if veterancy gave something like a 20% cooldown reduction, that might not mean much to some people. Thread: CoH 2 DPS Spreadsheet28 Sep 2013, 10:44 AM ive been thinking about adding this for quite a while now. im trying to think of the best way to add this. maybe some people could give input on what would be more useful. should we include a tab listing the actual bonuses for each unit (and let you all do the math yourself) or should we have seperate dps/stats sheets for units that for vet 2 and vet 3. the first option would be more clear as to what the actual bonuses are, but the second would allow for easier comparisons between two vet units. also, veterancy is currently being reworked, so ill probably add this stuff after the veterancy patch comes out In: COH2 Balance

So right now, Assault Grenadiers are the only "combat" infantry which vet isn't following the same path as the rest of units from it's group. thats true, but relic never stated that these were hard set rules. i would agree that if they had modified some vet bonuses to existing units without notification, that would be bad. i think all changes should be included in the change log. this isnt a change though. introducing new units with bonuses that dont follow the pattern is different. Thread: Offcial unit statistics27 Sep 2013, 22:48 PM the dps numbers are simply: (damageshots before reloadaccuracy)/ time with or without reload the time including reload refers to the amount of time it takes for a squad to shoot an entire clip and reload. for example, grenadiers shoot 5 shots before they have to reload, so it is the amount of time for taking 5 shots plus the reload. the time excluding reload is only including the time it takes to shoot 1 clip. using grenadiers, its just the time it takes to shoot 5 times. time including reload is the more accurate dps number over a long amount of time. this number is skewed by weapons with a very long reload time though, which is why we included time excluding reload as well. excluding reload is a fairly useless number to be honest. we made it out of curiosity more than anything.
