They're in the wrong game for that, CoH is about detailed micro focus on land forces, not macroing an entire war. Yeah the COH franchise is about land combat on the company level. All other vehicles are represented by off-map. There will never be controlable battleships and planes, but you don't need those things to have a japanese faction. And anyone who says they do has no imagination for game design. I'm so tired of people thinking they know what will or wont work in a game because they like to watch WW2 documanteries. There are noticeable advantages on both sides and I have to admit there are hardly any major balance problems between the 4 factions. Btw. I was just saying that the idea many people have of them being an inferior army is a myth and their loses were more because of lack of resources then inferior tactics or weapon development. If a faction was made for them I think that their mass produced but unused tanks should be given to them, but I think the prototypes probably shouldn't for the most part. Maybe a single prototype doctrine with one of the less rediculous weapons, but that's as far as I would take it. In: COH2 Gameplay

Maybe instead they would have to rely heavily on off-map abilities, similar to the close-air support and ostruppen doctrines. From what I can understand, they are a WW1 army with state of the art naval and air support. That's a bit much. Japenese land forces where much better then WW1. It's just that their land forces production never really exceeded what the allies had in 1942. Their weapon development was compararable to allies too maybe a bit worse. Their biggest problem was more that none of those prototypes could be built do to lack of resources and what was was spent on naval and air vehicles. To be honest, a lot of WW2 propaganda still effects a lot of peoples opinion of the Japenese army of WW2 at the time leading lots of people to believe they were more inferior then they were. The Japenese were still very advanced compared to other nations at the time other then germans and the big 3 allies. In: COH2 Gameplay

Don't be silly. Relic isn't going to make it unbeatable. It will still be vulnerable to flanks from even the T34/76s and M4 shermans you just might need 3 instead of the 2 for a tiger. In: Lobby
