And yeah, one more thing - 3 T-34's can easily defeat Panther even if she is supported by pios. I don't have documented proof but I am sure some peeps will agree. Of course, you will barely walk away with a single damaged T-34 but that Panther will be dead. |
Really? I almost thought the Panther was meant to counter tanks and be cost effective. Good you pointed that out.
Also it doesn´t two-shot any tank but T-70. For T-34 and Su85 it needs 4 penetrating hits.
If you want to take on a Panther with armor you should fail.
What feels much more weird is that the Su-85 has more range than a German tank or that one stupid ram or button totally cripples Panthers. What feels weird is that StuGs are totally outclassed by Su-85. But god forbid that the Germans actually get a decent tank, which btw is still horribly tuned down for balance purposes already.
Advice: Any combination of anti tank will counter Panthers: That means either ZIS/SU85/ IS-2/ T-34/85 and Mines/ Guards/ At-nades/ ram or mark target (to break the laws of physics) will get the Panther.
Well, I always appreciate irony you always respond to my posts with, Cardboard Tank.
But I never meant to say that Panther is OP or anything like that. All I wanted to say that it takes a lot more effort for Soviets to kill Panther than for Germans to knock out ... lets say IS-2.
By the way, when you were choosing your nick name were you thinking of T-34?) |
And also don't forget that the current price is 240 muni which makes it the most expensive ability in game. You want make weaker - fine with me but the price should drop to. Cheaper price - more call ins.
Germanes will have IL2 flying over their heads all the time. |
If they decrease its price and its range to a circle and increase the damage - this will make strafing run an anti-tank weapon. Soviets already have one - IL2 bombing run.
I think just a slight decrease in range and price to 200 would work.

I always focus my late game build on getting two vet3 guard squads and 3 T34's
Vet3 guards are super durable, they can simply stand in front of panther and receive almost zero damage from its main gun. One T34 will ram panther and cancel any ability to escape, the other two just finish it. Guards take turns and button.
If the enemy rushes his pioneers squads to repair it, use guards grenades.
It works very well even against two panthers at same time. It just feels wrong that it takes an army to destroy a single German tank while panther can just run around and two shot your T34 and Su85 by its own.

TA can be defeated in many ways. On winter maps it's pretty much useless because once you drive it to the river, soviets will sink it in the blink of an eye.
Double RAM plus 152mm howitzer is an insta kill. |
Please don't remove IL-2 strafing run - my favorite toy. Nothing humiliates poor Germans better than this...
And to be serious, yes radius decrease would be ok, so it would be more "local" weapon. Price should go down as well to 200 per run.

This entire doctrine was created for heavy capping. Three cons squads with ppsh/ molotovs and irregulars with LMG and nades will shred any infantry (and in any quantity) in pieces. You can have T-34's following your cons for great support. T34 get damaged - no problem, your cons can repair it in no time while irregulars will cover them. Shall you face heavy defences - not a problem as well, your howitzer will clear a path for your troops with a single barrage.
But this works only if you get your hands on both fuel points from the start. If you can't keep the fuel and the enemy starts sweeping the floor with panthers, combo 3 cons ppsh plus at nade with guards dp28 plus button will work a lot better.
I've tried this doctrine three times and it looks like its fun to use it only if you own the fuel. Also I noticed that the first irregular squad always comes with German LMG which is really handy in early game. Or maybe I just got lucky.
Anyway, because of the reason that German players tend to throw tons of armor on the field, the doctrine where you get guards and cons with ppsh is much safer to choose. |
I feel like Penals were a later addition to the game, their role does not match their description or voices, and their weapons and further contradict it.
Personally I would have made Penals like this:
Shtrafniki: "Armed" with sticks, shtrafniki are just meat-shields designed to take the heat off real combat troops. At 7 men for 105 manpower, costing 15 manpower to reinforce, there is no immediate resource benefit to keeping them alive, and they only give half the XP of conscripts on death. Having no weapons of their own, shtrafniki prove their loyalty by dying in the field. Once enough men have died to achieve Vet 1, shtrafniki are considered trusted enough to be given real weapons, and a free upgrade for Mosin-Nagant rifles (conscript rifles) become available. Vet 1 shtrafniki are slightly effective as a conscript squad. Vet 2 increases their durability and lethality, Vet 3 further increases durability and lethality. Shtrafniki cannot capture points until Vet 2, and cannot capture at normal speed until Vet 3.
Sorry, but you are out of your mind. |
What are you talking about? P III's shells were splitting in half against T34 armor.
And if we talk about 1944 period Red Army was widely using T34-85
Anyway, this topic is about T34 in game. Here is my opinion. It was bad before patch now it's even worse.
Both t34 and p4 have to be the same in price and performance so the result of tank battles would rely on players skills. |
