This is a sad case of vocal minority whining their way out.

Its basically femen of CoH2, except they have achieved something that most don't like now.

And how did you determine who is the vocal minority and who isn't? I only see now a hand full of people yelling that they want to throw moneys on Relic for commanders that they already have paid for by buying the expansion (since they didn't plan to sell them seperately they are already paid for by us in their calculation anyway; Relic doesn't profit from this new system further either as long as they don't additionally sell the commanders for money).

And putting the blame on people who were against paid DLC that affects multiplayer gameplay in a significant way for this new system is ridiculous, because I don't recall anyone having said that commanders should unlock only randomly for a few lucky people and the rest can see with their 3 stock commanders where they go. That is alone Relic's idea.

But whatever, let's see what new info we will get to the system today and what possible changes may come in the future.

Panzerfüsilier don't do as much damage as Fallschirmjäger or Obersoldaten, but they are not really intended to at that price I would say.

But they are solid and with 6 men quite durable. They seem to get also quite nice with veterancy, especially at veterancy 5 which is not unrealistic to get with them. They are also good infantry scouts / spotters. Having an infantry scout unit has its advantages if the enemy has a lot of anti tank; don't want to lose that Puma instantly while driving in. Panzerfüsiliers will be your friend there.

Good, now try that against a player with working brain instead of easy AI and see how far you get.

Still, it is an exploit that needs fixing either way, don't you agree?

Btw yesterday I had a 3v3 team game where in the end I was popcapped as OKW for ages and was floating like 4000 manpower, 500 fuel and 500 munition or even more. Still the game went on for a while still because just moving into the enemy army which was not that small either could still go badly. If I could exploit such a thing as OKW I could have had 3 King Tigers with those ressources instead of just one.

Maybe such games are not common and maybe the game was not on a high skill level, but either way such things should just not be possible in any way.

Lol... at first everyone is complaining about the DLC commanders because they cost too much.
Now everyone is complaining because they are free.

It only makes no sense when you oversimplify everything.

They are free as in you don't have to pay for them aditionally to the expansion, yes. But you are not guaranteed to get them for free either.

There are only 3 guaranteed commanders for the new armies, and that is very little compared to how many free commanders we have with Ostheer and Soviets. It is not outrageous to demand that at least a few more commanders should be available either from the start without any unlocks or unlockable early and guaranteed like in vanilla CoH2 (maybe you remember, you had to unlock for example Jäger Infantry commander by reaching a certain rank first).

That is why people complain about the system. If they put this war spoil system as it works now only in for FUTURE additional commanders, and maybe along the opportunity to also purchase them if you don't want to rely on luck, then there will be far less complaint. There will be still some complaints if the new commanders will be overpowered, but if they didn't want complaints for that either then the only solution is that they make every commander free and available for everyone.

I think the system is completely fine for skins or bulletins (which don't really have much impact but are just something you can have fun collecting), but with the commanders it is a bit problematic.

I think it can still be fine for the commanders that you can buy, that you have a small chance to get them by playing. But this shouldn't be the case for the base commanders.

3 guaranteed commanders for the new armies are too few. Ostheer and Soviets have a lot more free commanders that everyone had unlocked (after reaching certain rank or just in general added for free over time).

They should make the three additional commanders from the new armies either be a guaranteed unlock after playing a certain amount or unlock them from the start. I am against selling those commanders, as they should be part of the price we already paid for the expansion. If they want to sell us commanders in the future, then only future commanders which provide completely new units or abilities and are not already existing in other commanders. Those can then be additionally unlockable through the current war spoils system.
