I see no problem making them a "normal" option for conscripts. A minor munitions cost increase (to say 50) would be justified as, as Nullist points out, it could lead to some very powerful versatile units early in the game, and its more about late game viability.
I like the suggestion of "after all other upgrades" or tieing it in with tier 3/4. Conscripts definately need more options, and being forced to go one of three commanders, one of which sucks massively, would not be a problem.
The problem is that the skill has to be replaced by something. For the motherland? That's a pretty nice skill. It would add more munition sucking skills up, and support the infantry playstyles of the doctrines. |
I can't believe how messed up some of the new bulletins are. 10% faster dispatch on HM-120s? WHY? Still haven't fixed the silly and useless munition reduction skills or dispatch times. Even build times are of questionable value. |
That sounds fucking amazing.
+10 internet points to whoever posts it up in youtube. |
I'd also be willing to fork out for a Season pass, if it included all TOW, commanders, skins, faceplates, etc. Would easily part with £25 for that. |
I'll be honest, I don't want free content. I want an apology for being treated like a second class citizen when I've paid more than the average joe. I want to know why things have been so unclear for so long, and why SEGA felt it necessary to alter the contents of the collectors edition. Why its necessary to charge even more for these commanders over the others (right now, as is, the cost of the commanders is almost the equivalent of Brave New World for Civ V - that is very, very expensive). Why CE's have been undercut with a 33% sale, and by giving the CE content away for free with preorders.
All these are questions that need to be answered.
I certainly won't be buying another CE from Relic/SEGA until they get their shit sorted out. This promise that the content is at "a significant discount" has not once been proven true. And that is what I find upsetting most of all. |
Noun, don't hide behind this "we'll learn" stuff. I'm happy to be a white knight for Relic - you did make the CE clear. But selling it on at a discount, giving most of it away to preorder customers, and then pretending we haven't seen this stuff before?
We did it with DOW2 and the Dark Angels. All those race specific campaign packs for "collectors edition only" were made for sale, screwing over the collectors edition customers and undercutting them.
Don't tell us "we'll learn" when its an obvious repeat of a past mistake - mistreating your collectors edition customers.
I won't pretend my faith in this new order from SEGA hasn't been shaken. It has. We'll see if you can recover and not try to screw us over more.
Also - the stream presented it as if the commanders were with the Case Blue DLC, which would of been great. However, they weren't. This is pretty annoying in itself - maybe some clarity on the stream next time, that they are a separate purchase?
One other thing Noun - there's been some poor communication on the Case Blue DLC. Most news sites have only mentioned the maps, and haven't mentioned case blue at all. This is pretty poor, and its only going to confuse matters. It's also not clear outside of our community that its free to everyone. I find this quite concerning too. |
Noun, could you at least put up a pack with the four new commanders at a discount? They are very, very expensive, and its not clear why they are more expensive than the existing commanders. |
YES WE KNOW WE WASTED OUR MONEY. It just so happens that the realisation of that has only just occurred to most of us. I can't believe they have already had a 33% off sale on the damn thing.
We're being treated like shit, we know it, and then theres this line of people going "well you knew what was in the pack". I hate to say this, but after THQ collapsed the whole thing was a gigantic mess for the longest time. I didn't order until the last second it was so bad.
I don't resent them for trying to make money with DLC. I resent that the most loyal customers are losing out (because "its such a good deal for our most loyal fans") and that they saw to jack the price up by another £1 because they are the flavour of the month.
Then theres the folks who picked them up at the incorrect pricing steam set. Why the hell were they not just the same as the current commanders?
The whole ordeal is an example of how not to do DLC and Collectors Editions.
Entitlement? Yeah, I guess I feel entitled for sticking with Relic for so long and buying a collectors edition that I figured they might make into a sweet deal. Just sucks they gave everything away to preorders and discounted it as well. Loyality huh?
And what do you get if you were a collectors edition owner whom preordered? The same as people who buy it now.

@Hans: Check this out. It's pretty black and white what they intended to include (I only found it yesterday as well...). I figured it would be like Retribution - loads of content at an amazing price. So far I feel its like "hey this is how sega work - we'll give you a fraction of whats available in our £70 edition and charge you for even more for being loyal and preordering! sounds great right?". |
I can't believe they have increased the price on them. It's stupid. It's like they found our sore spot and now want to keep pushing.
Hope there is a discount pack... |
