Airborne starfe, airborne supply/support weapon drops, zombie bunkers that could reinforce, V1 rocket, propaganda instant retreat, nuclear pinnaple grenades, sticky bomb 100% engine crit on anything, wehr vet, knight cross holders, nebelwerfers one shooting everything in building that single rocket hit, rifles being able to spam mines AND GET VET OFF MINE KILLS, tank trap abuse, PaK camo 3 shots.
And I haven't even started talking about OF factions.
There was much more gimmicky or plain retarded and stupid stuff in vCoH then people even want to remember.
wow you guys are still missing the point, I think the poster's point is that the game looks and sound better during the beta than it does now.
It shows how Relic "optimized" their game but removing some effects and visual quality to improve the game performance.
This, we aren't talking about balance here. Removing visual quality, sounds, and effects is not optimizing, it's watering down. Give us the Sounds Back!
Lowering down quality of graphics isn't optimization, it's watering down graphics. Get it right.
The in-game sounds better. Listen to the strafing run at 27 minutes. The mortars had a whistling sound to it as well. At 13:11 minutes with the At Gun barrage. And at 49:45 seconds, just overall eargasm from the ISU-152. Perhaps Relic lost these files when transferring to Sega, who knows.
But the UI, balance, and the commander system with tiers just made me want to vomit. It's sad that we lost superior graphics, because to be honest coh2 doesn't look like a 2014 game at all. But at the same time we lost the bad balance and the terrible UI.
I don't have any issues with the IS-2 or atleast fighting against it. Yes it does wipe squads but that's rare for me. And really that's coh2 soldiers AI for blobbing instead of keeping their spacing. Plus I don't run up to an IS-2 with shreck pgrens, that's just idiotic as running up to a KV-8. Paks can penetrate it and damage it and can completely screw the IS-2 by using target weak point. Before you say, herp a derp, a pak gets killed in 1 to 2 shots. Yes that's true but I don't send a pak unsupported. I only do this if I have P4. If I have panthers, circling the is2 is pretty easy and you really should have no issues killing it since it has a slow ass reload speed and turret traverse speed..
he Soviets have to rely on so many gimmicky shit abilities that just ruins CoH2 for me. Precision strike, buttoning, sniper sprint, 2 men sniper squads, and Relic tries to balance around these dumb abilities instead of outright removing them.
The Germans are the other hand are just like what a Company of Heroes faction is supposed to be. They are more hard hitting, more conventional, their doctrines makes more sense, their progression of tech is good (vCoH is still better in that respect.)
The German doctrines are better in a sense that they are there too assist the German player, while the Soviets need to pick a doctrine to match up against the Germans.
So I pick Germans because their design is good, but still needs work.
