Thread: T-34/76 feels plain pathetic 1 Jul 2013, 23:31 PM Ost just needs a big fuel reduction and lower its AT abilities. Then you have Stug (AT), Ost (AI), and P4 (middle, but more expensive) in T3 Osteer. Hard to say what the T34 needs right now given the Sov faction as a whole. Fix a couple of other things and it probably merits making the T34 stronger AT. EDIT: And these "historically accurate" arguments need to quit. A.) Nobody gives a dayum. B-Z.) It's a game, balance/fun trumps realism. The sheet amount of lol if a game implemented true realism would be staggering. In: COH2 Balance

At 480MP a pop you would need to have almost 900MP in the bank for it to be possible to call in a second thing as soon as the cooldown expired. I would recommend picking cards that don't rely on poor resource management but that will help support your game style. Well, my job here is done. <pants> In: COH2 Bugs

Thread: T70 needs IMMEDIATE NERF1 Jul 2013, 13:37 PM Heh I actually was going to make a post about this the other night. This thing needs a big refactor, it's true. It's the new PE AC except it's immune to small arms fire. Rather than just simply nerfing it, I'd rather see it be made more interesting. Require some upgrades that could give it additional configurations. Think Hotchkiss or Tetrarch from CoH1. More penetration, maybe more armor, etc. But yes, please please please fix its out of the box AI capabilities. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: German Sniper Health1 Jul 2013, 01:52 AM It would certainly help a good amount given the amount of indirect fire the soviets have, though he needs a lot more love in general. Cheaper, better vet abilities, more survivability, etc. Some part of me feels like they should just swap 2man vs 1man sniper teams since the german one is already fighting an uphill battle and this would make sniper spam more risky for sovs, though probably rather they just make them both 2 man or both 1 man and differentiate them some other way. Thread: HTD needs to go1 Jul 2013, 01:46 AM Jump back to quoted post30 Jun 2013, 11:07 AMace4sure Cause I also did for the phosphorous rounds, I just looked for the effects of HTD to clearify what it actually does (should have done it in the first place, but live, laziness, etc etc ) Here are the numbers: - Recieved Supression: 0 (immune) - Recieved Accuarcy: 0.5 - Posture Prone (laying on the ground immobile) - Facing Only (can't turn while on the ground it seems) It basicly is a light cover button, the thing is like pqumsieh said, it also stacks with cover. So when you are already in light cover (and after some action all crates grant light cover) you get a 0.5 * 0.5 = 0.25 accuracy modifier to hit for small arms. That#is actually pretty lame, cause small arms normally only have like 50% - 60% hit chance even at close range. You simply don't hit them with small arms when activated. AoE weapons like Granedes and flamethrowers have a 5 modifier for the "near" area of splash damage which just compensates this bonus (0.25 5 = 1.25). What was new to is the "Facing Only". Regular infantry also have firing arcs much like MGs or AT guns, you simply don't have to setup them, they just face the enemy automaticly. Havn't tested it yet, but you it seems to me you are able to "flank" HTD Conscripts or just walk behind them and they can't shoot you. Regards ace Just tested, "Facing Only" doesn't appear to be true. Conscripts are quite capable of changing direction on the ground. If you run a PG squad past them they'll turn around on their bellies and keep shooting. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Conscript range30 Jun 2013, 20:53 PM Engis win vs pios every time (un-upgraded). The MP40 or whatever they're carrying needs about an 8000% damage increase to be combat viable, heh. The only times I have seen pios able to beat engineers is if they manage to instantly be in close range like turning a corner or something, and even then it is kind of a crap shoot on crits. Barton is right, the problem is nuanced but there. In CoH1 you can choose where the plane comes from. Obviously you would always choose to have it come from the side of the map closest to the target to minimize travel time. In this game since the plane seems to always come from your base, unless you're trying to hit something right outside your base there is something like a 3-5 second window where the plane is visible on the map flying towards the target AFTER the 2 second flares window. Also, the planes in CoH1 were way faster in general. EDIT: Clarification. In: COH2 Balance

Slightly off topic, but something needs to be done about the gross sniper imbalance anyway. The Sov sniper is pretty solid and the German one is rubbish simply by the fact that: - They cost the same - Sov can afford to lose one guy to a tank shell or mortar or lucky crit or something and retreat to reinforce, German one is 360MP and vet gone if someone looks at him funny - German sniper is always fighting 50-100% bigger squads. His rate of fire isn't noticeably better to compensate, especially once Sov sniper gets vet (which it is more likely to do and keep due to 2man) - Explosive round or whatever is mostly useless, flare is situationally useful - Sov sniper works with M3, German sniper has no equivalent In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: I find PaKs extremely unattractive.27 Jun 2013, 16:42 PM I made a thread called "Things I would rather buy than a Pak40" for this very reason. The German one is simply useless. Way too expensive, way too easily killed. It's the CoH1 pak minus cloak and +70 manpower and where all vehicle MGs now do damage. The Soviet one is more complicated. Because of its AI barrage capabilities and the fact that because 6man crew is harder to get rid of it's immediately in a better spot than the Pak40. Coupled with poor accuracy (which is kind of shocking given that a completely niche unit has bad accuracy against its sole target), poor firing arc, poor damage/penetration against heavier things, and poor range, they're in a bad spot right now. I think fixing any/all of the aforementioned would go a long way towards helping. In: COH2 Balance
