Thread: Conscripts durability 25 Sep 2014, 01:42 AM i wouldnt count on cons for anything else other than at nades and weapon recrewing once grens start teching. keep cons count low and use other alternatives like guards shocks snipers or t34. key to defeating lmg spam is to hard counter them. of course it doesnt work everytime because of the extra cost you have to fork out so choose ur best counters to what he has. a t34 works against a p4 rush whiles snipers are the best against gren spam and mg42s. shocks and guards are there to hold the line so they dont roll conscripts. Thread: USF paratrooper upkeep too high?24 Sep 2014, 01:08 AM i think for most elite infantry, they really need armour and more durability. these guys cannot be spammed due to their high cost and to be honest. there's probably only 1-2 running around the field and will be easily outnumbered by base infantry and focus fired down to bits before they can really be used, especially for line infantry equivalents like lmg paras and guards. these guys shouldnt be matched man to man by regular squads, only by other elite infantry or upgraded squads in numbers. as a rule of thumb, all units that cost more than 350mp needs some armour to go along with that huge cost. except for guards, who need the armour because of their mediocre dps and ambush units who pop out from buildings. So the logic is that the Penals (armed with SVT's and satchels) are supposed to be 'suicide' units that attack the enemy defences head-on. In practice however the low suppression resistance and high-cost discourages such use. I agree that they shoudn't be long-range units though, that doesn't fit the weapon they use. honestly, i dont care what they are called but they are in a perfect position for soviets as standard trained infantry. soviets has enough assault troops, conscripts/penals/shocks. what they really need are infantry that can take fire and dish out enough at range to deter infantry rushes. the only one that fits are guards and guards being guards are currently doctrinal, too expensive and too squishy against all that incoming fire that german infantry are so capable of spewing. Thread: Let's talk Soviet faction.20 Sep 2014, 18:07 PM relic needs to make a decision if cons are throwaway infantry or soviet's base infantry. if conscripts are throwaway infantry, penals/guards needs to be reworked, penals being the standard trained infantry of the soviet army, they need respectable firepower and proper grenades. while guards are the heavy elite infantry and with stats and cost to reflect. else, should conscripts be the soviet's base infantry, they need scaling desperately since they do not have a non doctrinal elite infantry. Thread: Are Guards Ok Now?14 Sep 2014, 23:47 PM i woudldnt want to see a dps buff for these guys regardless. ptrs needs a good pen boost to make them useful against mediums and support against heavies, idc how historical that is though. for their performance, please let them come with dp28 immediately at 330mp, or lower dp28 to 60munitions, while guards themselves are 300mp since button is effectively useless lastly a good buff to guards durability might be the best change, they should take on the role of heavy line infantry, that means average dps, but good survivability in cover and at range. a 0.87 received accuracy might be a good start. Thread: Are kubelwagens OP14 Sep 2014, 13:51 PM looking at abdul's vid, i think its pretty clear kubels have the edge. insane damage, suppression and mobility all in one, not to mention a smaller target size = lower received accuracy. as long as kubel stays away from getting flanked by m3 or dodge, i think it can easily reign supreme against infantry. okw dont need the best hmg AND the best light vehicle.
