Thread: Chaotic match13 Jun 2013, 11:43 AM Posting this so others can learn from my mistakes. I suggest watching this (at least partially) with Fog of War on. From my point of view it is complete chaos with him invading my territory everywhere while I cut off a lot but fail to anticipate him and do proper area control. My main mistakes (feel free to point out more): -focusing too much on the fuel -not capturing enough normal strat points, leading to a lack of muni (and fuel, but mainly muni) -capturing victory points too late -not killing his frigging mortars -losing a few units here and there (he loses quite a few, too) -went from T1 to T2 too early, should have gotten another gren/mg/mortar or maybe even a scout car. Couldn't upgrade halftrack because of not capturing enough +5 points -commander choice was purely reactionary to save my tank, which didn't even work In: Replays

Thread: COH2 Unit Stats Chart10 Jun 2013, 18:07 PM In CoH1, stats related to reloading were pretty hard to interpret because some weapons like the mg42 would do 3 or so long bursts with little time between them, then reload for several seconds. With this, DPS calculations can be pretty nifty. About Tiger and T70 having the same DPS: Of course the lower penetration will make the T70 much less effective against medium and larger tanks. 4 or so small attacks with low penetration do very little vs. armor when compared to one large attack with huge penetration. However, against infantry the DPS being roughly equal sounds right and fair. Also take into account that the tiger has more AoE splash damage, increasing its DPS a bit more vs. infantry. Thread: Soviet mines vs German mines8 Jun 2013, 23:33 PM I also find the AP mine field to be rather cumbersome. Overall, it seems very cost efficient but there are not many places where you can place all 4 of the fields. I think it would be better if (one of the two): -the mines were a bit closer together -you could turn the mine field (like a bunker so one of the fields doesn't get blocked by a tree or a rock) In: COH2 Balance

There is CoH2stats: http://coh-moderncombat.com/CoH2Stats/ which is kind of like coh1-stats, although not as complete (yet?). Maybe this helps you, although you'd need to do a lot of number crunching. Overall, CoH2 does not have a target table like CoH1. This makes it a bit more consistent (but a bit harder to completely balance). In: COH2 Gameplay

Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a doctrine only thing, because... damagewise they aren't even an improvment (neither munni wise), you can only lay them with one special Unit... it's not faster... almost the same. The doctrine feels wasted for that. A + for the RiegelMine might be that the enemy can't see that you lay it. But I am not even sure that this is true. That were basically my thoughts, too... I mean it doesn't have to be very strong but it should at least be a bit unique. Damage-wise they deal 400 dmg vs. the 500 dmg of the normal AT mines (vs. 200, the Russian mines), at least according to CoH2stats. No idea if their numbers are correct/up-to-date. Although the always immobilize sounds useful, it being spawned from a special unit that you often just get 1 of and that you normally can't afford to have sitting around in one place for too long is a large limitation. Plus you often get the halftrack before getting to 2 CP. I think one thing that might make them unique would be if they'd be a bit larger and have a larger activation area than normal mines. After all, they were 80 cm long and had a much larger activation plate. Or just allow engineers to build them, too? Or maybe just speed up the placement... the halftrack is really stuck for too long in one spot to plant that mine. Or maybe just move it to 1 CP so it comes a bit earlier so you have more time to place it? In: COH2 Balance
