Thread: Guard Rifles upgraded vs Panzer Grenadiers Upgraded12 Jul 2013, 17:15 PM I think the OP has Panzergrenadier and Grenadier mixed up. Panzergrenadiere will win if they are unupgraded. If they are upgraded, I'd expect upgraded guards to win but it'll be a random clusterfuck anyways because nearly all men will just be jumping around. vs. upgraded Grenadiere I'm really not sure. The DP LMG and the LMG42 are both pretty powerful but the LMG42 is pretty prone to being useless when the Grenadiere try diving for cover. The anti tank rifles of the guards will thus mess up the Grenadier AI, preventing them from firing a lot. You can also look up Adder's DPS chart and estimate their performance from there. However, the anti tank rifles will kill with one hit but not hit very often thus making the whole thing even more random. Overall, I think the more expensive guards would win. Don't have too much experience here on the other hand. It is an engagement that is very unlikely to happen in a vacuum. In: Strategy Desk
Thread: Window mode gone?12 Jul 2013, 17:05 PM Can anyone else not switch the game between full screen and windowed mode anymore since the latest patch? I used to press Alt+Enter and then Alt+Tab to other windows while waiting in queue. Often, I'd also push the CoH2 window a bit to the side so I could keep an eye on the queue status while surfing. Now Alt+Enter just seems to switch between borderless window mode and fullscreen mode. Borderless window mode is great to finally have but I'd still like to be able to move the window around. Does anyone know how I can do that? In: COH2 Gameplay

Did they give the German HMG crew 1.5 armor like Grens and Pgrens? Because at least that isn't reflected on coh2stats... I thought he updated it one last time, maybe just an aftersight. Thread: Guide on Impact of Bulletins12 Jul 2013, 15:33 PM This also shows how low damaging but fast shooting units like pioneers or an unupgraded halftrack can hugely influence a battle even when their own damage looks kinda neglectable. Basically a single stray hit can already negate the massive bonus the enemy would otherwise get from his bulletins versus slow firing weapons. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Do you like new patch?12 Jul 2013, 12:19 PM Lower armor than 1 wouldn't do anything, would it? Because you don't deal more damage to low armor tanks with a huge penetration gun either. You just have a chance of 0% for it to deflect. However, it might increase the chance for criticals (just speculation though). So no, just lowering their armor wouldn't do anything. If anything, they'd have to buff every weapon in the game, which they surely won't do. In: COH2 Balance

For titles that I'll only buy when they are heavily reduced, they normally do fine to judge the overall quality of the game and help me decide whether to further look into a title or to skip it. And that is all Metacritic is good for. In the end it is still not a great website because people on there (like on most forums) tend to be far too emotional with their reviews and because the website is used wrong, e.g. as the only source to inform your purchase decision and sometimes for determining the bonus payments from publishers to developers. But the problem really is just in the buildings offering too good protection even vs. weapons intended to counter them. Everything you described applies for the other side as well. German snipers are just as inefficient at dealing with buildings as the soviet snipers are. In: COH2 Balance

Impossible without target tables or deviating from their "all infantry = 80 HP" (except snipers) agenda. And even that could be circumvented by recrewing. If MG-42s really prove to be the balance problem some are already painting them to be, they could increase the damage modifiers of the molotov and molotov DoTs from 0.75 vs. garrison cover to 1.0 or so. However, it seems like Soviets are now experiencing the exact same problem Germans had and still has... I guess garrison cover might be the problem after all. They could just increase the modifiers for nearly all weapons vs. garrisons. Many streamers and shoutcasters have already said on video that buildings feel a bit too strong. In: COH2 Balance
