Overall, I think especially the main infantry ones can make a huge difference, especially in the early game. Assuming about equal skill, of course.

I quit 3 games yesterday either during the loading screen or excused myself to my opponent and surrendered.
I'm not proud of it but really, I get like 75% Minsk and the map is simply bad. It creates bad games because of its design, path finding sucks, there are some sight/shot blocking objects in very strange places and most of all it is ugly as hell. I just wanted a few nice games and take a few screenshots

Map ban is really needed.

The short windup also makes them a little harder to dodge. The timer is such that it's often quite hard to dodge one fully even if you react to the windup.

It is exactly the same as the Panzergrenadier bundled grenades. Ostheer just has smaller squads, so the chance for all of them being affected is higher.

I've had this happen 3 games in a row. However, two of the other guys at least chatted and it seemed to affect both of us and they seemed as surprised as me.
Restarting Steam and checking the game for integrity (also waited an hour or two, playing other stuff) fixed it for me, so you might want to try that.

It might also be related to peer to peer because the loading screen always showed the other player as not loading but we were both in the game and could chat, so the other guy must have loaded but the information was lost somewhere in the depths of the internetz.


Not saying some people may not be doing it on purpose. Some people were doing stuff like that in CoH1 to rack up stupid win streaks without even playing. Their loading bar would go up to a certain point and then never further unless you'd quit the game, upon which they'd just requeue. Unless in this case, it was 100% intentional on their part.
I once got one of those assholes in my last match of the day and instead of quitting, I just kept the machine running for over 36 hours, after which he must have quit himself because I got a win for it. What a waste of perfectly fine electricity but what else are you supposed to do? :/
