I suppose that what happens when Relic solved every problem with some quick hotfix tape.

Six years later you've got this big, super complicated ball of tape. There are more exceptions than rules in CoH 2.

In an ideal world this game could really do with some sweeping standardisations to unit performance, but it's such a big job I doubt it'll ever happen.

I prefer vcoh2 or close to that.

The original has clearer faction designs, distinctive abilities that have clearer leveling tiers, more asymmetrey, more rng unpredictable so every game is different. Sure this create balancing issues if you fall behind in tiering, but its make unit perservation fun, makes mastering a faction fun.

Now it is everything goes, the engagement pace has picked up, too much arty, too much camping, more standardised meta to follow.

I belive Relic just needs to tweak the original formula a bit more, instead of gutting the core design choices with black tapes. Their balancing is strange, this patch is supposed to work on certain units while others should not be touched.

Right after that another greedy play and bad raketen micro by OKW player (could take out one Jackson easily) results in another Command Panther traded for Sherman in 1 vs 2 players engagement. Right after that his OST teammate almost lost his already damaged Panther too trying to help him.

I'd say they've lost mostly because OKW player was less experienced than other 3 players.

To be fair the Okw player is already on 32 points while the Usf is 25. A reason to say Usf is playing passively. This has been my experience too, Td shut down any pushes to clear infantry. Just use Scott to snipe.

I dont think Okw is that inexperienced, he saw an opening to kill the scott and chases it, but panther moving accraucy + smaller scott target size + scott speed + smoke + hp, it is very frustating to hard counter this unit. And you know later, he will 1-click crew repair for free repair!

While okw panther stayed too long later, he tried to support with 2 raks, but you have 5 allies turret pointing at it! 2FF 2Jackson 1Ez8. Just before this encounter, the 4 Td knocks out 1 of 2 panthers chasing the slow churchill. The 60 range helps to contact faster, no way for panthers to escape out even AFTER engaging blitz!

Took 2 panthers + 1 PG shrek to kill 1 slow churchill in 25second. Which is enough time for allies Td to rotate and come over. The Okw player was dealing with the left VP earlier against Scott and Ez8, and probably waiting for repairs after being shot by Jackson(44:00). It is not easy to support if your enemies are camping in together in the middle, because they have 60 range and/or faster moving accruacy.

So you have the dynamics where expensive panther is totally exposed when making dives.

Btw 44:43, rear armor hit from the sides.

If you see the resources, Okw is manpower limited while Wehr is fuel limited to remake another panther. While Allies can stay away thanks to the range. On Veterancy, they dont even care about panther armor.

t34/76 isnt meant to deal with panther. But it can still contribute 160 damages even against an expensive vet2 panther. So to say stug should not deal with heavies, dont make sense.

At least we getting somewhere recognise problem with Wehr veterancy and late game.

That said, i totally disagree Panther shutdown medium and heavies. I say allies Td shutdown Axis tanks is more correct, especially on vetted late games.

By shutdown i mean, the tanks are not able to move freely.

In 2v2, med allies tanks are often seen in 2 scenario. A quick one, to harass the field before moving to heavy, or risk all med spam rush. The first is not worth the cost of panther. The second, Panther will probably die with it.

Panther definitely dont shut down heavies. It trades well with Pershing and IS2 solo. But in army composition, i doubt Allies heavies are afraid of the panther.

That brings me again to pop cost. Wehr pop costs is also too inefficient. For example, why should Panther trade well with SU85? Because it cost more.

In 2v2 with brit or usf, you cannot win an all out tank battle because of how the repair advantages. Crew repair, RE with Zooks, Eng with piats. These make the pop bleed very heavy.

So thats why Panther, Jp4, Stug needs more vet bonus to scale well.

You're playing wrong game is your stugs are outspammed by MORE EXPENSIVE TANKS.
Not a singular allied med tank gets penetration, self repairs or damage.
Stats say that only allied tank that performs better at AI is HE sherman, all other meds perform WORSE because they have LOWER AOE and HIGHER SCATTER.
Rear armor is completely irrelevant for all med tank combat.

Seriously, what is up with you and constant lying about everything past week??

No disagree.
Cromwell AI are faster and do more damage.
T3476 AI more cost effective.
Shermans AI are also faster, better mg and better in chasing.

Yet all these, when spammable, does the same hurt against Panther 'rear'.

Self repairs is usf. But i was talking about Allies TD veterancy, very useful in their roles and shutdown all axis tanks in late games.

The simple issue, Axis veterancy theme of armor bonus do not help now, and with more meta going for Churchill and KV/IS2, Wehr player is struggling as you seen.
