Thread: Advanced Warfare Tactics needs some love31 Jan 2019, 15:51 PM I think the issue with advanced warfare is that armoured assault is too similar. Two abilities are the same: radio intercept and t34/85 Two other abilities in each commander are quite similar, however, at least in my mind, armoured has in both comparisons the edge: Conscript repair < Vehicle repair Il-2 strafe <<< Il-2 Attacks ppsh and is 2 are hardly comparable, however, in terms of utility, I think no ability has the edge. What I would like to see is a replacement for the Il-2 strafe, which is better and set both commanders apart. Therefore I suggest the Il-2 strafe gets replaced by the Il-2 PTAB Bombing Run from tank hunter. It is a useful tool while not being op, a strafe that is good against tanks and support weapons. Also, an off-map ability that is meant against tanks can only be found in two other Soviet commanders: tank hunter and NKWD so advanced warfare would be more unique. In: COH2 Balance

If a unit is not cost effective(which comet is not), it needs either price cut and stat buff. sorry for the late reply, They are expensive however they are nearly as durable than a Pershing (just 10 Armour apart), so it is definitely possible to add them up over the game, so if they get slightly to cost-effective and you build 3 of them, that is not impossible I have enough games where I add up 2 panthers and one brummbär, you have 3 times slightly to cost-effective tanks. I don't try to say that the Comet does not need a change I just want to point out that we need the perfect sweet point for a tank that is durable and can be spammed. It is easy to say that things need a change but there are the nearly endless possible solutions to find the best is really hard. I think the comet should maybe get an ability called "first strike" which you need to activate when you are not in combat and last for 10-15 sec which increases accuracy and pen for one shot for the cost of 30-50 muni (depends on the strength of the shot). This would mean that one has to activate it bevor the attack and cannot be easily used to finish off a tank. In: COH2 Balance

The Comet tries to do way too many things at once and ends up doing nothing good for the cost/price associated with the unit. One thing that the British lack is a Heavy Tank such as the Tiger/IS-2 etc. The Comet was considered to be one of the best British tanks during WW-2 so this tank is a candidate to fill such a role within the British army composition. The Comet could be adjusted to become the British version of the Pershing without creating a unit that is flat out better than the Panther/Firefly and overlapping with other units. The problem is that you can have multiple comets. If the Comet would be a good allrounder (can deal with armour/inf cost-effective) is durable (so you can stack them up offer the game) and can be spammed they could become a no-brainer. Now the comet relies on speed and hit and run tactics to defeat the enemy, instead of fighting 1 on 1 engagements with enemy tanks. Not sure if it would be viable at that high of a price, and would probably ruin the unit for teamgames. Still, I think it could be interesting. I agree with the idea. I think the reason why the comet is not being used is that is not reliable against axis armour at the time it comes out and for its cost. But brits just as every other allie need at this timing something reliable against armour especially for this cost and pop. However, in terms of cost-effectiveness, it is a good unit so outride buffing it would be too much. So I insist its cost goes down to the level of the church 490 mp 160 fl and 16 pop so it doesn't need to be as good as the panther and one can be more ok to lose, with following changes nerf: 720 hp nerfing armour remove nades to vet 3 and get rid of passive nade throw buffs: buff vet maybe a bit reload In: COH2 Balance

Going with the idea of hammer and anvil being opposite, while the Churchill is a rolling bunker and hold the own front line, the comet is supposed to be a line breaker. In AI and tactics, he has the right assets using nades and wp to disrupt team weapons and infantry, smoking the advance of the own infantry or enemy units and has a superior sight throw the tank commander. The Problem is it not reliable against axis tanks in the late game, which you find in their lines, thx to its pen. However, if we buff its pen the comet become a late-game oriented (it can survive until the end of the battle), aggressive, good allrounder just like the Pershing and the is 2. You might say they are still better however they cost more and are limited to one. The aspects of being a solid late-game unit, an aggressive good allrounder and spamable could create an op tank. No tank in this game shares all of these aspects and however, we decide we need to get rid of one this aspects. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: I think the comet tank is due for a buff.24 Jan 2019, 20:35 PM Jump back to quoted post24 Jan 2019, 18:19 PMblvckdream No because the Cromwell is supposed to be the UKF "swarm tank". true however soviets have also the t34/85 while at the same time have the t34/76 both are meant for swarming and flanking. the advantage of the t34/85 over the t34/76 is that it is more reliable in penning and escaping and scales better because of its durability.
