Vet3 is too long Vet2 armor bonus is useless now. The AI of panther is pathetic, dps of grens is nothing to be proud of. As i feel, dskha and 50cap dps are way better and they are not on panther I don't remember any patch that added 50cal and dshka to the stock allied TDs. I must have missed that one, haven't played since before the weekend. Now I have something to look forward to abusing later in the week I guess. "DPS of a gren squad", already a rough estimate by itself, is nothing to sneeze at and more than enough to kill infantry, especially considering those same infantry can't really do shit to the sheer armor and hp wall shooting at them. I mean, I hope you realize that most of the Panther AI doesn't even come from the pintle MG, but the coaxial and hull MGs, which do something like 10 DPS* even at at max range right off the bat. That's by no means pathetic. It's only really beaten out by the T-34s (and now the KV1) with their buffed MGs. *(combined, obviously. And costs 30+ more fuel than all the allied TDs? 50% durability advantage (theoretically higher with armor) and actual AI capability versus 17% range disadvantage and a 27ish% price increase doesn't sound bad at all. This is added on the fact that the panther is about as hard a counter to tanks as you can get outside of doctrine in any faction, with no medium tank on the allied side having a snowball's chance in hell of fighting it. Casemates are all easily flanked and even a jackson can be caught out of position and destroyed by Panzer IVs. A panther, on the other hand, can literally outfight any medium tank in the game with its ass facing it and win through HP and DPS alone, let alone using the front armor, and has actual AI power to boot when it isnt zoning out enemy tanks. The fact literally every single balance discussion regarding the Panther is dedicated solely to buffing its ability to counter its only realistic nondoc counters on the allied side is really telling of just how much this unit does not need a buff. You can argue its not good enough versus heavies and maybe that'd hold true, specifically versus the IS2, but nobody's been asking for penetration increases so big doubt there. End point: if you want this unit to be a better Jackson it needs to lose either AI or durability or some of both. In: COH2 Balance

M4A3E8 isn't in a doctrine with the combined arms ability, and if they are being used in a wide flank they wont be near any infantry in order to acquire the bonus anyway. 2. If someone actually manages to pull off a proper flank like that in this clustergarden of a game, particularly with medium tanks, and they aren't immediately raped by mines or snare infantry then by all rights they deserve to win. But, after recently return back to Allies, I found this Racketen spam thing seems to be, you know, overpower. Currently, the only effective way I have is calling for USF calliopes, which is not ideal since it is doctrinal and limited to one single faction. Katy is not effective since the racketens can retreat so quickly to avoid massive casualties. Anyway, ill leave this post as an open topic one. Please let me know if you have any way to counter the racketen blob. Or, feel free, just take this place to complain. For USF, alternatively a mortar or pack howi could help a bit. The mortar is pretty shite at doing damage but if the raketens are truly being blobbed it might do the trick. Smoke could be useful for screening. As SOV, maybe Zis barrage. Maybe mortar. A little trickier without the pack howi. Katyusha is also an option if you're good with it, but I agree it isn't the wipe machine it gets made out to be here sometimes, and the closer you get with it the riskier it becomes to use; be careful there aren't any cloaked raketens spread around outside the blob. As UKF you're kind of fucked tbh. Only thing I can think of is the Vickers will do good damage since weapon crews don't gain reduced RA while suppressed, but then I'm not actually sure if that applies to the Raketen since it's more like a MG team than an ATG crew. In UKF's case you probably just have to be really good with the infantry play, unfortunately. Maybe use commandos. Idk about land mattress. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Some change for bundle Call-in group24 Nov 2019, 21:57 PM With the exception of the USF Combat Group I would just make them cheaper / more discounted as bundles. Encourages their use more and makes up for the fact you're typically getting a unit you don't want or need out of the deal. The USF one is annoying since I usually want paratroopers far more than I want the Pack Howie. It was a lot more attractive when it was an ATG, though that was nerfed for obvious reasons. It's also heavily discounted on the MP end (and then expensive out the ass in munitions...). I don't know how to improve that tbh. Either way I don't think making the special unit separately buildable is a good idea at all, just destroys any reason to use the bundle ability whatsoever. In: COH2 Gameplay

The real problem is that mediums are too easily shut down by TD or Pak spam. For Axis, the additional problem is that the Tiger is the only reliable counter to the IS2 because the Panther is useless. Wouldn't nerfing the counters to heavy tanks just make heavy tanks even more dominant? I tend to think TDs and ATGs are in the oppressive state they are now principally because they have to be able to counter heavy tanks. In: COH2 Balance

Can't fathom complaining about explosive wipes as OKW when the scatter-free squad deleter comes right in for them at T3.
