Which TDs can the panther run straight at and win? And get by snares and AT guns too?

Panther can deal with firefly or a single Jackson easily. You are acting like panther only has 30 range or something...

In okw case you don't need to flank and trade, you just sit back and vet while your obers and jaegers turn into terminators backed up by panther.allies are the ones that need to get aggressive late game, not axis

It sounds like a really biased statement.
Raketenwerfer has a penetrating power of 200/190/180 and 160 damage.
There is only one churchill heavy tank except the callin uni t, where there is a 1% probability that Raketenwerfer will not penetrate.
This obviously means that you can completely control the Allied medium tank.
This is much higher than the USF's 57mm AT gun penetration power of 150/140/130.

But think about m42.
It is clearly designed with light AT and has 140/110/90 penetrating power and 80 damage.
This is lower penetration than USF's Bazooka, and the same damage. With a penetration of 90, the probability of penetrating the stug-III is only 57%. And even that can only inflict 80 damage.
The m42 is apparently designed to stop the light-tank from the design, and that's why it has gained some anti-infantry capability.
However, Raketenwerfer has no shortage of anti-tank ability.
Imagine as you said, Raketenwerfer has Anti-heavy tank capability. this the right balance?

ZiS also has anti inf but can take on tigers and panther. I don't see how expensive AI abilities would be that bad if the cheese like stealth and retreat was removed

Side teching that gives it sight after it hits an enemy, and blitz (and slight up satchels but we don't talk about those). What they mean, I think, is that it should be an overgrown cromwell in the way that the t34-85 is an overgrown 76mm and to a lesser level the way the tiger is a much bigger p4. I don't think that the comet should be a brit panther, but a slightly heavier cromwell might be good

Let's be honest here considering the only other faction that lacks late game rocket arty (USF) get vehicle crews these "perks" are pretty poor in comparison.

I think a nerfed armour comet redesigned with better AI like the 85 could work, but it would need to be cheap. Otherwise people would just continue to ignore the tier when anvil exists and gives you a beefy AI tank with OKW repair speeds.

I'm in favour of some form of hammer rebalancing personally (as well as comet vet buff) because right now no one picks it over anvil. If it was worth the tech for the abilities you would see people upgrading after building medium tanks... But noone does that, top players just go for anvil and much needed repair.

Nerfed comet into 85 role and land mattress in hammer could work well too I think, definitely an idea for a balance mod. Cutting out all these weird, leftover nerfed abilities (glitchy WP shell, tank nades) and giving UKF actual tools like rocket arty and tanks that scale with veterency. If of course you pay the premium and lock yourself out of repair and a heavy...

But! Compared to the cromwell it also comes with extra range, pen, alot more armour and extra health and tracking against enemy armour plus can be equipped with blitz (so can the crommy at that point though)

Again comparing the t34s, 40 fuel gets oy pen and health (and 10/5 armour) so all the extras seems reasonable given the price. The only thing I could really see is a vet realignment

That or a hard cap and make it ~~the way it used to be. It would be easier to make it worth it if it was limited.
