Hi guys,
reactions were positive to the theme of a OKW "Kampfgruppe" commander but people suggested that this doctrine should include in every case a call-in AT option. I included this idea, here is my revised version:
OKW Kampfgruppe doctrine
• Counter attack tactics
• Mortar Halftrack
• Defense of the fatherland
• Tank-Hunter Reserve Squad (4 men squad (JLI models) with 2x Kar 98K and 2x Panzershreck
• Commando Panther

I also revised my "Großdeutschland" concept.
There are no doctrines named after divisions and the name itself is problematic so i changed the name to "Strategic Reserve" doctrine. I did not include Panterfüssies as suggested because we still dont know how many units from OKW can be included and because i want to know your opinion about a possible upgrade for Assaullt grenadiers.

Strategic Reserves doctrine (Wehrmacht)
• Radio Intercept (Wehrmacht had excellent radio intelligence and at least 1 commander should have this ability)
• Counter Attack Tactics
• Assaultgrenadiere (can be upgraded with 4&Stg44 for 100 ammo after teching Battlephase 2)
• HEAT munition
• OKW Pz4 (Passiv)

I consider the better P4 the heart and soul of this doctrine:
It gives Wehrmacht the counter to the T-34/85 which overshadows the normal P4 version.
HEAT rounds will improve the Wehrmacht's mediums too and make Support Armor Corps more attractive - right now Wehrmacht players in team games usually go straight for Brummbaer followed by a panther. Stugs were rarely seen in the tournament so far and will be more dangerous now.
Assault grenadiers don't scale well; i think the Stg44 would help them a lot. But the question is if the unit would be op with this upgrade. Same for Stugs with HEAT rounds. What do think? Can this work?

Played some games with the 1.8 overwatch commander. Man, i really like it! Can't wait to play the final version with the new veteran requirements for Jaegers. The combination of howie and sector assault will punish emplacement cancer hard too.

I also think that in COH3 the Mediterranean will be the theatre of war - which i like. You can design 2 german factions- Heeresgruppe Afrika and Heeresgruppe Süd(Italian Front) and you also can use some Italian stuff. Americans and Brits (a lot of Commonwealth units)factions are obviously for Allies. Soviets could come later.

Looking to the very far future i would hope for COH4: Cold War. The scenario is really attractive and fresh!

As for one major change I would really like to stress the consideration of replacing Overwatch's LeFH 18 with the Jagdtiger. The LeFH 18 feels out of place. It fits the doctrine much better and there was a lot of positive reaction to the idea. Unless you guys already discussed and dismissed this?

IMO there's also still the issue of the 221 coming out a bit too late for what it can do (practically saw no use in the tournament). IMO it should be buildable after having an SWS truck out with a bit longer build time.

If object collision can't be fixed, it should be worked around by:
1) Slightly higher arc with increased speed (same time to hit);
2) Decrease random scatter so the player can actually manually aim around obstacles.

Jaeger Light Infantry need some lower requirements. They have very good vet but the current requirements are through the roof. It should be 1/4 to 1/3 lower I think.

Priority list for OKW commanders:

• Lower XP requirements for Jaeger light infantry
  
• 221 NEEDS TO COME OUT EARLIER: the unit itself is good and the damage buff very welcome but unless it comes out earlier the car will not build which would be a shame.

Sorry. Thats not correct.
PzGrenDiv GD received 14 Tiger tanks. All Tigers were ready for combat at the start of Operation Zitadelle (Kursk offensive). Furthermore the Division had already received the new Panther tanks.
All in all it is the Elite Division of the german army so they army high command was interested in supplying as much weapons as possible to the division (The Heer had no other "Elite division").
But i wont use the name ingame. We had similar discussions inside the Eastern Front Mod Team because we had made a doctrine around GD too.
CoH is a game so i dont have any problems with a doctrine/commander with a historical background but i think the game shouldnt use any specific unit/division names to prevent any political debate (e.g. someone here remembering the old discussions with Obersoldaten and their old name ).

Thx for correcting me, the order of battle i analyzed was from April 1943 and Operation Zitadelle began in July; the division got the heavy tanks just before the start of the offensive.
IN terms of the name of the doctrine, well, i thought about it too. We could also name the doctrine "Germany's finest"/ Pride of the Wehrmacht(or something like that) mirroring the elite concept and the fact that the division consisted (at least on paper) only of volunteers.
