Thread: I really need a Beta (Demo) test for all 20 Jan 2023, 23:30 PM In the post tech video, John stated there was a missing lighting pass. This image looks like we are seeing the ambient textures only. No Specular or Normal maps?? However, the road appears to have normal mapping (depth shadowy areas). In the video he mentions missing lighting pass but shows images where spline textures were missing. So who knows. Either way, they have stated it will be better on release in the video. All we can do is hope. And you are not alone feeling the way you do. In: COH3 Central

I hope Coh3 will be the same way. It may take time to acclimate to the new game. Assuming it is still not washed out graphics, horrible color choices, funky UI, etc etc etc or else... That sounds promising. I saw a lot of people I assumed were COH1 players chatting/posting etc. This could be a good thing if Coh3 brings both communities together. In: Lobby

If anything I think people have indirectly asked for slower tick rates. One complaint for Coh2 is that the window for light vehicle play is too small. So in some game modes, they are never even considered. Stretching out the game a little would give them more room to be viable. Maybe Relics thought was making the VPs faster would force you to decide on early power spike with lights over mediums later? If you are far ahead, close out the game with lights early? This would be fine for 1v1s, but bad for 4v4s. Especially since 1v1 players dont actually like to "play" the game. They want a fast chess match and once they think they have won, they get upset it is not over already. 4v4 players want a long slog with much death and carnage. Maybe that is the answer, different VP times for each game mode: 1v1 (fast) to 4v4 (slow). It is really hard to say what will happen in 4v4 since we have a new resource system. Maybe 4v4 will not a be myopic fuel charge every game, so, with faster ticks the VPs may become as important as fuel is in Coh2? Not having to push fuel early would be great. It caused faction imbalances in start times. EXAMPLE: OKW would swarm a fuel almost a minute before some soviet builds get there. By then it is too late because the OST MG is setting up. Having more lower value points could spread the fighting. In: COH3 Central
Thread: Future balance19 Jan 2023, 13:24 PM You guys are going WAY OFF course with your guards talk. The question is not about Coh2 balance on a specific unit. What can be done in Coh3 to make sure one commander is not dominant? How can you buff a certain unit without it becoming slightly better than another unit? IDEAS: 1 - Make a variety of map styles. Long and close range. Many players hate this approach, ask Tric he will explain. But this ensures you need more than one commander. But then you may be missing a required commander in one mode. 2 - Relic could make commanders so one path is better for close and one for long? This would effectively double the type of commander load out. 3 - Change unit stats often and make small changes. This requires Relic to be very active in balance updates. You guys are smarter than me, whatcha got for ideas? In: COH2 Balance

That was one of the reasons why I barely played until Western fronts released. Coh2 was such mess in the beginning. This is an important point to people doing preorders. How confident are you that Relic/Sega will not put this kind of trash into the game? I know I would drop immediately after anyone on my team had a bad engagement. "This is over.. /L". And in lower rank games this happens every game multiple times. I already drop 30% of games just seeing the load out of my team mates. Sturmpoio spam on an open map "This is over.. /L". You cant base the game timings on a 20 minute match and have it end in 12-15 minutes. That is just hard dumb. In: COH3 Central
