Thread: Question about 120mm mortar31 Mar 2020, 06:39 AM what? Barrage AoE is different from the autoattack one? Better or worse? Most of the gripes I have with this unit its the setup. Unlike other heavier indirect fire units, the 120 doesn't set up in an arc, meaning its free to adjust to any target it sees fit. The mortar operator has to pack up, turn, and set it up again and you can lost a lot of time doing so. It would be a nice QoL change for the unit to work as a Pack Howitzer. Also the shrapnel effects is off. Its good at bursting down clumped squads and forcing static weapons out, but it can be bullied by ISGs. Its really bad at smoking and poping flares can be disastrous thanks to the bug that renders mortars unable to fire. Overall, its mostly a gimmick unit and the manpower is best invested in other units and I'm not quite sure about the posibility of turning it into a valuable asset for the soviet army In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Soviet T1 redesign/rebranding30 Mar 2020, 22:19 PM If it come to it, I think penals would be a cool close quarters assault unit, something the soviet basic rooster lacks alltogheter. M3 has to be reworked into something usefull and not just the flame car that bullies volks. Some members of the balance team have tinkered with the idea of making it drop medical crates. The gun in real life had a rate of fire of 15rpm in the infantry version. The tank variant had a "semi-automatic" breech but I doubt highly this would be enough to double rate of fire for a weapon which still had to be loaded by hand and then also aimed and fired by the same crewman (2-man crew, no dedicated loader), who is also the tank commander... *Wikipedia Real life its just a template, a flavor if you like, for the units in Coh2. By this point everyone has killed more ostwinds than the total number of produced units. T34/76s have trouble penetrating a Panzer IV. OKW has more air support than USF,etc etc In: COH2 Balance

(Winter patch)26 Mar 2020, 16:29 PM Guys guys, take into account the live Tiger "One hit kill" radius of its AoE is bugged and paired with its long range accuracy are the reason of why its overperforming so much compared to other heavies. The current Tiger performance its not the intended way for it to perform even by last patch standards In: COH2 Balance
