Hmm, I might actually switch back to my Logitech G502 for CoH2 then. I've been using a Zowie EC2-A for the past two years. I tend to fingertip-grip mice, except when I'm playing CS, where I palm.

Until I get access to my G502, I'm going to try to play on 1600DPI with my Zowie and see how that goes. I also need to learn Gridkeys without the WASD modifications. A couple of matches against bots, and it feels like I'm relearning the game from scratch!

If you're using anything but the minimap to do anything more than just minorly adjust your camera you are doing something seriously wrong. Scrolling across an entire map, regardless of how you do it, is incredibly slow and inefficient.

Thanks for your replies Inverse, I am really buying what you're selling When I'm back from vacation, I'm going to ditch my WASD script (keeping middle click for tactical map). I'm really looking to improve my game in this case, I've had my fun messing about with my friends but I decided that I want to start taking this seriously and at least break into the top 200 in 1v1.

If it's okay, could I ask a couple of questions about your specific preferences?

What sensitivity do you have on your mouse, and what scroll-speed sensitivity do you have?

Are gridkeys more efficient than regular hotkeys? (I'm finding I like having 'T' as my retreat for infantry as well as reverse for tanks, the similar ideas makes it easier to remember for me)

How much do you use the tactical map? I've noticed from his stream that Shadowada uses it quite a bit; would you recommend it?

Do you use control groups often? If so, what are your preferences for the binds? I'd really like to try using them (basically I only use them for a sniper or a tank), but I often end up forgetting about them mid-match.

Also in regards to control groups; do you use a script so you can use more control groups without having to move your left hand away from numbers 1-5?

So I thought this would be a good game to have checked out by the professional analysts here

I thought I started the game off fairly well, forced a few retreats and got some good map control going. However, I had a hard time dealing with penals + guards, especially when he garrisoned buildings. In a lot of my games I have a terrible time dealing with units in buildings. Any suggestions to my OKW play, what I did (and should have done better) to counter his units hiding in buildings, and general tips would be most appreciated!

First IS want to somehow secure that house before capping fuel. I want to see If he want to rush my fuel or not, then when I saw he is not agressive I normally started capping my fuel

With first hmg I rushed mid house because you can easily cover his side from there

Then I saw he went sniper, so I grouped my both IS and tryed to push him out of map or possibly kill him.

Second HMG went to his house near fuel BECAUSE it is much easier to hold this site than my site against sniper - less cover around houses means harder time for sniper. Also not forgetting there is only 1 door to that house and it is situated to enemy site and so if I want to camp at my point and he flanks hmg it is dead because of stupid retreat path

I went 2HMG 2 IS because HMG gives me bigger DMG than IS and also good supression. You can easily hold off enemy grens with MGs if they try to get your bren carrier and thust bren carrier can focus more on killing sniper. Also do not forget mg vet1 bonus that gives it bigger range when in building than sniper range.


Point of UC after teching is rather obvious. You can quickly tech AT gun if he have 222. Because if you went bren carrier first and he was a bit better than you in terms of map he can tech it at same time and then you have to hold 222 from you bren carrier until you tech tier 2 and at gun, by this way you only have to wait until AT gun hit the field.
