Thread: Current 1v1 Ostheer Strategies?28 Mar 2019, 12:27 PM Assault Grenadiers are very weak at the moment. They're nicknamed AssGrens. German Infantry is pretty solid. If your opponent is spamming infantry, you can stick a flamer pioneer in the 250 halftrack for a very fast budget flamer HT. You can chase infantry off the map with that if you avoid the troops with snares. The Stormtroopers can then help with a quick light vehicle counter. In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: Bofors28 Mar 2019, 12:21 PM This is mainly directed at high level players, but anyone's welcome to chip in if they've got realistic thoughts on this. It's also deliberately not in the balance forum. I'm after a sensible discussion about the role of the unit here. If you want to rage against the overpowered red units or bring a one-faction-wonder mindset here, please go elsewhere. Right, the Bofors. The Bofors is the second option on te UKF T1 sidetech, but it almost always loses out to the mobile AEC. You only see the Bofors in full on Bofors-Mortar Pit Sim City strategies. If you do go for a Bofors without going deep on Sim City then it gets countered very easily. Assuming you can't make it mobile, what would the unit need to be to be a viable choice over the AEC? What capabilities and weaknesses would it need to be an interesting unit to play with and to counter? In: COH2 Gameplay

The game used to have loads of that sort of thing. Heavy tanks had something called a Deflection Critical where they had a chance to hard stun a tank if their shells bounced. That's how armour works though. The only way to make it more realistic is if one penetrating hit knocks out the tank. In: COH2 Balance

From p4 to KT all they CAN make is TDs and since it's the same unit you can't catch them off guard. I'm fairly sure it's because it's a call-in. The opponent techs, gets some sort of basic medium, then you spend all that teching fuel on suddenly IS-2. Same with the Crocodile, Tiger I and Pershing. Mostly true of the Command Panther: it has the redeeming feature of being fairly weak against infantry, but it's still enough to catapault Special Operations to OKW's top commander. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Map List 2019 - REVAMP27 Mar 2019, 10:50 AM That Semois is pretty, but the whole problem with Semois is the huge number of buildings and chokepoints covered by said buildings. Using stone Western Front buildings means you can't even destroy them reliably. If you brought that back, you'd need to make most of the buildings ungarrisonable props or you'll end up making another Arnhem. In: Lobby
