Thread: Heavy Tank Call-Ins3 Apr 2019, 14:39 PM Heavy tanks as is punish the non-heavy tank player for teching. Not having to pay the tech cost means a heavy tank costs the player roughly the same as a normal tank costs the player who techs. The player who techs shouldn't end up with the inferior unit. Changes Make the IS-2, ISU-152 and KV-2 require Soviet T4 built to call in. Make the Pershing require Major unlocked to call in. Make the Tiger I and Tiger Ace require the Support Armor Korps or the Heavy Panzer Korps to call in. Make the Churchill Crocodile require UKF T2 (Centaur, Cromwell, Firefly) to call in. Make the Command Panther require the SPHQ to call in (although you can still call it if the SPHQ gets destroyed). Once this is done, you can safely give the heavies reliable guns. In: COH2 Balance

That allows you to remove them from the Panzerfusiliers, ending that design headache, and means you add double AT infantry to Feuersturm instead of Breakthrough. Breakthrough doesn't need it, but Feuersturm desperately wants something other than Raketenwerfers to support a Flame Hetzer. In: Lobby

A call-in heavy is insanely strong for OKW. The Command Panther already makes Special Operations the top commander, and that's for a tank with piss all anti-infantry ability. A call-in Tiger would easily make Grand Offensive the new top commander, especially given it also gives anti-tank infantry. In: Lobby

It turns Grand Offensive into better Special Operations, which is the dominant doctrine. Locked behind three trucks, it's just not worth it. I don't see how it'd ever be better than the two SPHQ tanks you could buy with the resources needed to backtech and call the Tiger. Plus, it solves it having no skin. In: Lobby
Thread: OKW - Grand Offensive - Feedback3 Apr 2019, 11:39 AM I'd replace the Command Tiger with the new Tiger Ace. That solves the skin issue, and makes it a unit worth waiting for. I'd either keep it as a call-in (stalling for a Tiger Ace is painful) or gate it behind the SPHQ. Nobody's going to build another truck for a Tiger I when they can build two OKW P4s instead. The fastest vanilla Firefly is 295 FU. The fastest JPIV in live is about 310 FU. It'd be 245ish if you moved it to Battlegroup and double teched Mechanized and Battlegroup. But they're tank destroyers. They've got slow or no turret rotation, aren't fast enough to crush reliably and don't do shit to infantry. Why would you ever rush them? They're for trading efficiently with medium tanks and tank destroyers. You can't do that if there aren't any. In: COH2 Gameplay

You can just spam light vehicles, much like any okw player using spec ops and then if enemy deploys medium tank you are just 135 FU short of counter. Much like spec ops but even cheaper and doesnt force you to pick doctrine. No, you're not. You're circa 600 MP 185 FU short of a JPIV, because you have to build Battlegroup for it. That JPIV then needs to have its flanks defended from both infantry and armour. That's faster than the current 270 FU to get a JPIV out, but less than the 140 FU two Pumas would cost you. And that's assuming you don't already have a Puma to counter their light vehicles. In: COH2 Gameplay
