Thread: balance preview; KV1 still lumbering behind the rest6 May 2016, 21:17 PM Some one needs to be the worst.... I feel the KV1 coming in at 6cps would be the happiest answer. Make it come EARLY to bully the hell out of stuff but have it fall off in usefulness if you don't get much mileage out of it. Give it the same treatment as the T34 (with the MG buff) and then call it a day. Its a gimicky tank in a gimmicky commander, embrace it. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Relic: Week 1 Update to the Balance Mod6 May 2016, 16:16 PM They are removing the faust, right? That's fine-ish. There's no reason for an army to have a cheap, auto-pen faust and shreks. One or the other certainly. As far as the actual combat abilities of the Sturms go I would have to think that they aren't going to be super-blobby. If you spam them you're going to be trading in-efficiently since they're sort of squishy, if you blob them they have no way to cover themselves/break the suppression. Early game they're pretty vulnerable to snipers. As far as penals go : didn't we just have this problem with rifles? The idea that they are good at all ranges and the flame thrower now makes it impossible to take cover against them In: Lobby
Thread: Dawn of War to CoH4 May 2016, 13:11 PM Mechanically I think we're going to be seeing a Big chunk of Dawn Of War 1 mixed in with some aspects of Warcraft 3 with just a little pinch of Coh2 in there. You're going to have your regular rank-and-file dudes who are functionally identical to their Dawn of War counterparts (upgrades on them sure, reinforcing a squad is cheaper than buying a new one, etc) but they are mostly there for bodies and damage. The big superstars are going to be the units you're picking from high tiers that end up with multiple abilities and threat levels. They're likely going to be about equivalent to Heros from WC3. They will likely determine your over all teching, play style, where you want to fight etc. That's likely why they are enacting a "pick, counter pick" moba style thing. "Okay he went with a Knight, do I want a WraithKnight to 1v1 him or do I want to delegate that to my Anti-armour wepons and pick something else to mess with his rank and file" There are alot of things we don't know yet but that's the stone I will cast. We've seen alot of good 40k games lately. Battlefleet is everything I could have asked for, I enjoy Eternal Crusade quite a bit even in it's alpha phase, Spacehulk is solid too. In: Other Games
Thread: (may preview) okw medic truck and anti-tank1 May 2016, 23:33 PM I feel they need to finish the changes that miragefla started in so far as the med truck. ISG with SMOKE is something I would love to have on live. Miragefla's flak-track stats make it MUCH more desirable over the current one. "251 Flak HT AOE boost to make it more effective against grouped infantry and reduced its non-vet set-up time to better allow it to deploy and redeploy to areas it is required to be. Smoke given a munition price due to OKW now having full income. -AOE increased to 1.3 from 1 -Initial set-up time reduced from 4 seconds to 3 -Smokescreen costs 20 munitions from 0. -Damage versus garrison cover from 0.25 to 0.375. -Non-vet and vetted weapon have 100% increase in damage against aircraft and 50% increased penetration." My volks are usually 600%+/- efficient and can give rangers a run for their money if they don't magically appear ontop of you. Vet 3 rifles vs Vet5 volks is not much of a competition unless they are double bar'd The synergy with the Sturmofficer is pretty solid as well. He's still a pain in the ass but since you have the muni to yell shocktroopers into retreating it's quite nice. In: Lobby

They come in T3 and alongside medium armour competes with a vehicle strategy vs AT infantry strat. Even in custom games featuring high income and popcap I never field more than two Obers at a time, they augment my infantry and building them means I can't build medium armour. Id probably be okay with them on Obers now that they're off volks but I think adding an actual tank hunter unit would be easier than trying to make hardcore AI badasses into "meh" anti-tank squads. Thread: Balance Preview Mod - Your Thoughts After Using It29 Apr 2016, 15:54 PM Sextons are much more mobile than a mattress and the brits have a great deal of artillery available to them in general. I think it's something that could get some love but at the same time nothing as sweeping as some of the other unit changes we've seen made. I dislike the RNG roll nature of artillery wepons so I am obviously pretty biased when it comes to lobbing squadwipe shells cross map. In: Lobby

Thread: So i tried PvP today for the first time29 Apr 2016, 14:20 PM Multiplayer is scary at first. It gets better. There is a preview mod coming up of things that will be changing. I am not good but I used to be muuuuch worse. I highly suggest watching some Propgandacast. If you can get past Dane's cadence (he speaks at a very fast clip compared to what Im used to hearing) you can start to see patterns of why certain players do certain things and you can start to know ranges a little more organically.
