Consider 2 cases: A HMG is being attack by 2 infantries first gets pinned while the second one perform a flank maneuver. Second get into place but the first has to retreat because of taking casualties and damage. HMG also retreat once it is flanked. Since the HMG can reinforce faster and has taken less damage it can return to field faster although it was outplay... HMG near reinforcement point the HMG (unless under very heavy fire) can reinforce faster than the enemy can kill squad members. Lastly consider infantries: Compare Obers and Shock ober must retreating after taking 2 casualties of fear of squad wipes shock can stay until they take 4 casualties. Yet due to different reinforcement time shock can return in the field about the same time....So shock troops actually have allot more fighting time than obers....and thatn makes them a better investment regardless of other statistics... Thread: Miragefla's December Balance Mod Additions25 Dec 2015, 08:41 AM Some changes you might want to consider: Reinforce time and its linear connection with reinforcement cost. Relic has uses reinforce time that is linearly connected to the reinforcement cost meaning the cheaper the unit the faster it reinforces. That creates a number of problems especially when someone reinforces on the field. For instance a Osttruppen fighting a conscript both near reinforcement points will eventually win because he will be able to reinforce faster and have more entities fire. A HMG near reinforcement point can replace losses too fast. Expensive units like ober have to stay of the field for long time until the can get even a single squad member back... My suggestion: reinforcement time should only related to infantry type: (from faster to slower) Utility (engineer type units) Mainline Elite Support weapons (accept ATGs) I have placed support weapons last because managing to push support weapon off the field should be rewarded. Further more a PG squad with camo performs better than stormtroopers for only 30 muni (accept the time during the ability use), with the camo actually providing a bonus. So the only thing S.T. going for them is the ability to deploy behind enemy lines and an munition hungry ability. I would rather make the ability weaker and weapon upgrade cheaper. Also have a look at the shreck upgrade that seems to be U.P. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: An alternative AT snare for UKF22 Dec 2015, 19:11 PM An alternative snare for UKF could be an ability similar to Guards "Button vehicle". A UKF lmg (Vickers K or Bren) used be either R.E. or Tommies could give a snare to vehicles slowing them down a bit, similar to "button vehicle". Vehicles affected should become immune for certain time so that it does not lead to stun lock. This could have different affect depending on the vehicle the same way "critical shot" works. Light fast vehicles could be slowed, medium vehicles have weapon disabled, heavy vehicles blinded or something like that... In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Miragefla's December Balance Mod Additions22 Dec 2015, 16:02 PM KV-8 -Gains "Canister Shot" ability. Similar to the M8 Greyhound. A AI ability for the gun seems to me out of play. If the tank needs AI it has the flamer. I would suggest another ability that would cause suppression making the unit better at dealing with blobs. OKW Volksgrenadier ...Faust will always penetrate to deal damage but causes no engine damage. Ability to fire is 15 munitions. I find the implementation of very problematic.The range of the Faust is extremely small and the weapon does too little to be useful. OKW will have trouble against vehicles that can suppress (especially since Rakketen can be suppressed also.) or vehicles that can be used to crash infantries. Imo only way for this change to be implement would to for obers to be moved in another truck and be able to upgrade with a singe Shreck. Different approaches could be more more viable. For instance instead of the current Panzershreck (RPzB 54)they could get the RPzB 43 that could perform closer to the Bazooka (one would have to remove the shield and maybe give a gas mask to the operator). Another approach would be to have Faust work as normal weapon and not an ability being able to be auto fired every 7-10 secs up to a range 35 (maybe the model could use its rifle in the meantime). If needed and ability could be added where it would work like Ostheer PFaust maybe causing stun instead of engine damage to protect from crashing vehicles.... In: Modding and Tools
