Combination of barrage and vet 1 ability trucking allows the unit to spot or have mini-map information for more effective barrage. High far penetration. The ability to break off barrage instantly Can crush humans My suggestions would be that barrage: Xp value increased to much cost. Barrage replaces "tracking" as a vet 1 ability. Again the Panther and Comet should not be compared in their current setup and roles. In addition the Comet should not have a have a pop 16. It a main battle tank that can engage both hard and soft targets. Actually specialized units should have a lower pop than multirole units. Same goes for price. I one want to compare the Comet with an axis tank that should be the Tiger. As I also pointed in a previous post Comet has access to number of abilities from vet 0. Actually it is the Panther that needs a clear role and vet bonuses and abilities to fit that role. Currently it is supposed to be a counter to heavy armor with HMG. It fails both in fighting heavy armor and in fighting soft targets. In: COH2 Balance

Apart from its stats it has access to a number of abilities from vet 0 like: "war speed", "commander" (45 sight/x1.1 accuracy),"hammer trucking" (more vision on target), "smoke shells" "crew defense" (Grenades). It can generally perform adequately against most threads and it can even counter ATGs. Panthers are Tds with Hmgs. Comparing the two units with different roles and tech cost is simply misleading. Thread: Why is the Maxim Death Loop Still a Thing?26 Jan 2018, 09:46 AM One of the good thing in the design of COH2 was that it moved pass unnecessary the complexity of COH1 where unit where using individual rules (like different types of armor on infantry). Unfortunately in the late patches it seems that it becoming a trend for unit to have individual stats instead of following similar "rules". For instance: Reinforcement cost has stopped following the rule. Reinforcement time has stopped following the rule. Build time has stopped following the rule. There are different solutions for the performance of picked up weapons. and the least goes on. It would be allot better for the game if the rules and mechanism where kept simple and "rules" had few exemptions. In: COH2 Balance

If you want to use it effectively vs a HMG you need to be at mid range which is inside the HMG range and sometime there isn't much shot blocker to cover you. That is incorrect. Ostheer and USF mortar have the same scatter at same range. The only difference between the 2 is that one has a near AOE of 1 and the other 0.75. In: COH2 Balance

(from very little testing I did Dhsk had more DPS and better suppression) (If you want to test test vs infantry in heavy cover or trench) The 0.50 caliber does have better AP rounds, but I would try to keep it between the Maxim and Dshk. Armor Piercing Rounds(50 Cal HMG) +25% damage, +10 penetration. Default Penetration 7/6/5 DSHK-38 Armor Piercing Rounds +200% penetration. Default Penetration 4.5/3/1.5 In: COH2 Balance
