Thread: T34/85 or KV1 in Soviet Industry Commander? 4 Oct 2019, 16:30 PM Jump back to quoted post4 Oct 2019, 16:11 PMVipper Let me explain this another way, T-34/76 got a massive buff to hmg DPS and currently has a similar DPS to the PZIV 3 hmg that actually PzIV has to pay for. By accident the same buff went to T-34/76 which was designed to be more of an AT tank. Then people started arguing that T-34/85 is better the KV-1 which in return got significant buffs. And now people claim that these unit should be available to even more commanders. That is the essence of powercreep. One should actually make both the T-34/85 and Kv-1 less cost efficient since both units are far superior to the PzIV H. If that result to lower Soviet win rates than the faction should be buffed and not the doctrinal units. I believe people argued for the KV1 to be buffed on the grounds of it being utterly shit before XD Anyway, this thread was to see if people think the commander should be changed. T38/85 OP discussion can go in it's own thread, if you believe it to be the case-I don't but there we go. In: COH2 Balance

I can't quite get the gist of what you are trying to say. At present the Soviet Industry commander is under no threat of becoming OP. If we add the T34/85 in place of the KV8 it would still be balanced by fuel dependency, no elite infantry and no call in arty or recon. Plus with the IS2 buff you're better off going for armoured assault. In: COH2 Balance

The T34/76 is more of a novelty than anything else in team games and I rarely use it for anything other than diving rocket arty. I'd be happy for the KV8 to be swapped out with something else as I feel it has a niche use in team games where this commander is mainly used. Or bundle the T34/85 OR KV1 with an existing ability. Although this would probably be excessive. Let me know what you guys think. In: COH2 Balance

If I play in the middle of the day while most of North America is at work, the search rate is usually mostly Axis. When the central and western US is playing then the search rate is usually more Allied than Axis. Also, Kaitoff is right about how the numbers work. That said, I don't know how balance is in 1v1's, but the patch has been terrible for USF and UKF in large team games. The Riflemen buff probably helped USF a lot in 1v1's where there are a bunch of small engagements but isn't noticeable in 4v4's. For those, all USF got out of the patch was nerfs to the pack howie, Scott, and Jackson. The nerfs to IS have made UKF much worse in 3's or 4's. Try capping anything without leaving cover. Soviets and Ost feel okay. OKW is great. Yeah in 4v4s the axis team compositions seem to have gone from largely 2ost 2okw or 3ost 1okw to largely all okw or just one ost player. In: COH2 Balance

Hate it when you chase a Tiger back to their base and finally destroy it with your battered handful of remaining tanks. Only for a full health Tiger to be called in again instantly and fall upon your weakened army. Obviously this is unlikely to be as great an issue in 1v1 as in team games. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Are AXIS Unbalanced? Debate1 Oct 2019, 14:17 PM As someone who plays mostly 3v3/4v4 I think that every faction has aspects which are unbalanced in a vacuum. Sometimes they are outright OP such the JLI issue a few months back. On the whole though I think balance is in a good state, especially compared to how it has been in the past. The main issues at the moment are the maxim is still in a weird place and not worth buying most of the time. You're better of stealing MG42s. Light vehicles and (non premium) Mediums have a limited window of use in larger games as everyone tends to rush for panthers and the TDs to counter them. Non doctrinal rocket artillery is vital in team games where blobbing is rampant. The USF and UKF can suffer heavily if they pick the wrong doctrine. Conscripts seem to be more convoluted than ever with arguable results. I'd say now that the main balance issues stem from the maps rather than the factions, as some maps lend themselves heavily to forward retreat points. Other maps are simply too small for 4v4. Thread: Easy USF fix1 Oct 2019, 09:42 AM I'd be happy for them to change it so that the Officers came with the side-tech of each tier instead and just made the tiers research a bit faster. I'm not fussed about the officers, I want something which can suppress asap not another infantry squad to blob into my enemies. No idea how badly this would mess up the balance though. Your changes would extremely delay that. If people wanna improve the balance for the 1v1 tournament only, then just make a mod with such improvements and use the mod during tourney but dont destroy teamgames +1 Team games 2v2 and up are the only thing that interests me in this game. I know 1v1 has its fans but I would rather watch paint dry. Always a pain when team games suffer the knock on effect of some change intended balance 1v1. In: Lobby
