Could you add the following to the list:
Different sandbags (volks/riflemen/tommies/pioneers/conscripts/etc) have different hotkeys to access them. I don't know which key to move them to would make them the most consistent (e.g., G)

To make Tellermines work, Relic has to adjust the scale of the actual model to make its size identical to soviet TM-35 mines (so that they don't detonate prematurely). Alternatively we could give all mines (it's not just tellers that bug) the TM-35 model. We could try to mcgyver a workaround to Teller mines. However, at this point, we just want to make sure that WBP is integrated properly in the live-game. In: COH2 Gameplay |

I thought I was the only one going crazy. The workaround I found to this is create a directory symbolic link between the Alpha/mods directory to CoH2/mods directory using the following command:
(target needs to be an absolute path; not a relative path) I've no idea what caused it and when, though. |

I've never noticed any difference when aiming it on forward assemblies. Just pick a direction that goes along the long side of the assembly, and it will die. Bonus points if you kill reinforcing infantry with it. In: COH2 Gameplay |

When you're playing a UKF cancer guy that's using repair emplacements, just use the Stuka AT strafe from the CAS commander. At 90 munitions, it's the cheapest way to guarantee a kill vs forward assemblies. Thank me later. In: COH2 Gameplay |

In order of significance (from most significant to least important): - Nerfing all direct threats to Wermacht infantry* (spacing, light vehicles, USF mortar) - Nerfing all opposing infantry down a notch so that Wermacht infantry is on par (Guards/Penals/Riflemen) or superior to them (Shocks/non-PPSh Conscripts/Forgotten "elite" infantry squads) - Nerfing all direct and indirect threats to OST's reinforcement half-track so that it becomes viable - Pioneer buff - Cheap reliable medkits * Unfortunately we couldn't add the following to the list of scalability-deniers: - demo charges (and other similar abilities) - and landmattress/calliope - tank crushing In: COH2 Gameplay |

wtf mr. smith???? he just created a thread in coh2.org to show a bug... We are the only entity that fixes bugs at this point. This means that the bug can only be addressed in something like a WBP. Thus, in effect, WBP counts as the live version. A bug report that no longer applies to the live version (WBP) only serves to deny what little manpower resources we have. As the person responsible for typing in the WBP mod, I need to ensure that the quality is top-notch. Thus, I need to know whether this bug still exists in the live version (WBP) or not. If the bug still exists, then the bugfix I included is useless (which means I might have included more bugs in the game). Thus, I would have to revert the bugfixes I included for both snipers and camouflaged AT guns. We're trying to help you to help us (e.g., my first post about "Is this still applicable in WBP?"), but you also need to help us to help you (e.g., commit some effort from your side, so that playtesting Relic's implementation of WBP will take closer to 2 days rather than 2 months). Bottomline: What I'm asking for here is. Can one of you guys test whether this bug still applies to WBP? If none of you volunteers, I'll have to recheck this myself. And, if I have to keep rechecking every single report by myself, that might delay things. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Could any of you verify that you've encountered this bug in WBP? I'm pretty sure I've done the necessary changes to address this issue. Understand that we do not the necessary amount of time to recheck every single bugfix we have included for every version of WBP we have put out. We simply do not have the manpower for that. You are not helping us in any way by reporting bugs that we have already addressed. This is unless you want Winter Balance Patch to stand for Winter Balance patch 2018. For every false alarm you report, I might end up having to waste one hour of personal time: - To check what causes the bug in the live version - To try to reproduce the bug in WBP - To try to see what else could produce the bug in WBP that we haven't thought of - To think of any ramifications that the changes we included could have on other, unrelated issues If there are 10 people reporting the same bug, surely there must be some way we could crowdsource that time down to 6 minutes per person, rather than piling another hour of workload on the same person that implemented the bugfix in the first place. The only other option we have is scaling down the number of bugfixes to something manageable (say 10-15). That way, everybody knows what's been fixed, or what has not been fixed. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Wreck values are, unfortunately, all over the place. We haven't managed to be convincing enough to remove this inconsistency. (IMO: The most ridiculous ability in the game that has not been touched by WBP is "Heroic Charge". Since heroic charge is out of scope, I doubt that other, less ridiculous abilities can be considered in-scope.) The commander needs a bit of redesign. I'm a big fan of doing something to make forward observation point more useful, and also letting the core army synergise better with weapon drops (Brits have no mobile reinforcement platform). The commandeer abilities would synergise really well with a faction that has strong forward reinforcement options. This is something that Brits lack. Thus, this commander is forever going to revolve around Arty Cover -- unless something changes. Core army: - Make forward assemblies cheaper say 200MP or 150MP 15FU), but remove emplacement garrison bonus - To compensate, make forward retreat points more expensive (200MP -> 300-350MP). Forward retreat could activate emplacement garrison bonuses. Commander: Forward Observation point: - Can be activated on forward assemblies - Gets free recon (currently costs 30 muni?) - Can cast artillery cover within X radius - Cost (potentially) reduced Artillery cover - Needs to fire a few dud shells (bofors barrage + shells that deal 0 damage). This is to warn the other player that the ability is active - Debuffs could build up over time, rather than be binary - Can cast either from command vehicle or from forward obervation point - Cancels if casting vehicle move or is destroyed Command Vehicle: - Reduce bonuses / Make bonuses less ridiculous for infantry (for tanks it's OK-ish) - Remove speed penalty - Add ability cooldown penalties for AVRE/Crew nades/Smoke/White Phosphorus - Increase veterancy gain speed (since the CV's damage output gets reduced by 75%) Salvage operation: - Allows engineers to upgrade salvage kit for 1 slot item worth - Salvage kit gets ability that pings available wrecks for player in containing sector (could give same ability to Soviet salvage crews) - Not mutually-exclusive with anvil upgrade - Need to figure out consistent wreck values (gaining more than 30 fuel per any type of vehicle is too much) Air resupply operation - No change. - Note the synergy with cheaper forward assemblies, though: People could use the ability more tactically; establish foothold -> supply drop -> push EDIT: If we want to go for complete-overkill mode, arty cover could also trigger victor barrage on all mortar pits, bofors (suppressive barrage), 25 pounder, airburst shells, etc In: COH2 Balance |
