and that's about like.. 5 min or less of advantage assuming the allies doesn't use elite and get weapon rack as soon as they can equip each squad with one
I guarantee you serious problems holding the field vs decent opponents if you go BGruup and don't get a Flak HT lol. I've kicked the thing in the past but I can't deny its area denial/kicking off point potential. Volks + MG won't do anything to deal with Shocks and USF have plenty of smokes. Smoking an MG basically kills its power for a bit while it repositions. Smoking a Flak HT does nothing if the player still have sight on you coming in (Attack Ground).

OKW vs UKF is still Alt+F4 due to the weaknesses of volks as you mentioned, among other problems like being MG’d off the field.
I hated to admit it but Tiger stall really kept OKW still in the game during that crucial period when Obers are still vetting up. Still hate the GO Doctrine though. The gap between Allied elite inf/LMG mainline entering the field and vet II Obers is quite considerable yes though if they can get extended firefights, then all that damage adds up fast. Unfortunately, common comps including triple vet III Penals will just outshoot your face off, even at a MP equivalent/loss. Don’t get me started on Triple double Bren IS.
SP StG44 is a downgraded compared to the Panzergrenadiers’ one and has weak mid to far dps. They are good for bullying engineer and isolated squads but far too costly to spam. |
TIL the AT gun is the only thing that shoots and is capable of shooting rocket arty.
one might try, p4s, pumas, panthers, shreks, tigers, elefants, jagdtigers, pak43s, perhaps stuka close air, or dive bombs..
the resources put into the calliope are resources not put into defending it after all. durability is its whole shtick. thats why it comes at a premium

It was changed to 400 when its rockets were buffed, so that it will now at least get oneshot by a Stuka Dive Bomb.
Alright thanks. Now the question I have to ask is what is OKW without stuka dive bomb supposed to do? It’s still three tank round shots unless Elite Armor’s used. |

I have the feeling, that it doesnt matter what the okw dude does. 2 Ostheer on the otherside is pure joy. 2 Snipers can do quite some work.
On the plus side the OKW late game is better than UKF and LMG IS gets really expensive really quickly vs LMG Obers... |
OKW 4v4/3v3 perspective here but the problems are not so different imho. Devolves into 1v1s or 2v2s in bits of the map. To save yourself suffering I just recommend Alt+F4. There is no situation in which your Volks can outshoot tommies in comparable cover stock for stock, squad for squad. Even SP ambushes are often turned against you due to that IS dps and 0.8 model size. No point going into detail about Vickers spam, I’m sure your psychological wounds speak enough.
I could only suggest the OKW rushing ISG after their 4th inf squad, to punish them for excessive MGs and punishing them for lack of a mobile nondoc mortar. I concur that it’s a lousy matchup and having a UC dodge 3+ raketen shots is infuriating |

I hate you.
Vs Tommies volks will struggle but once a stuka hits the field you pretty much force your enemy into keeping his infantry spread out or risk losing it.
UKF lacks decent rocket artillery so this plays heavily into the Tommy vs Volks dynamic later on.
Just some food for thought.
I agree with the rest of your post. Jagdpanzer IVs will eat fireflies 1v1 due to higher firerate and 4 hits for 4 hits for kills. |
