Maybe it deserves the nerf, but if it does, so does the OKW infrared halftrack.
And where did you get that it is free? You need to pay 210MP and 75 ammo to get it.
IR halftrack is more vulnerable because it requires to stay in one place.
The upgrade isn't free but it is cheap for what it does and scout places are free. And don't forget about the aura of command vehicle.
Great, now compare them to Sturms, and no, I need to pay ammo for them to become long range Sturms and if I lose a single squad equipped with 2 or 3 weapons (5 with the flamethrowers) that's a huge ammo loss, 210 manpower and 60 ammo for a bren/vickers each already out-weights 300 man power.
I don't really see the point of comparison. Brens are better on sections since they are already long-ranged troops. Without brens the price difference is too big to compare them (though I'm pretty sure that 3 sapper squads will easily outgun 2 sturm squads).
As for the 222 being a Queen, jeez, it is one of the cheapest units in the game.
I was referring to Ostwind as a queen. Anyways I had a problem with a command vehicle (UC) in the game where brit built bofors in the middle and 2 mortar pits after that. He used command vehicle to spot for his mortars so my mortars (I had 2) had no chance against them. When I got p4 I tried to rush the base but he already had 2 AT guns. Obviously I couldn't rush the UC with 222 because it was protected by bofors. I guess I could have built 222 just for killing planes but I didn't consider this option (and I mean he would got some scout information from planes anyways, right?).
It is just how it goes. 222 is good but still it is a scout car that you can lose really quickly. And having 222 just on the plane destroying duty is kinda lame.
1. The user has to pay munitions to upgrade the vehicle to a command vehicle = not free
2. Command vehicles stats are crippled and slow making it easy to kill = yet another cost.
3. Often use on cheap vehicles like UC or aec, which are very easy to destroy.
4. The recon shows you the exact location of the command vehicle, once again aiding your ability to destroy it.
5. AA units will shoot it down pretty fast even if you can't kill the command vehicle, limiting the effect of the ability.
Seems like there is plenty of cost and counterplay even if the ability itself is free.
Players usually protect command vehicle and you don't even it need to stay on the battlefield. Just call a plane and back off. I don't want to build ostwind just because my opponent payed some munis and 222s are kinda expendable and once you lose them you don't rebuild them.
My allies Artillery says hello, so does my Elephant and when I can see from hill to hill in Steppes (across the middle) I can see almost any flank or push coming - another if I put one on the Island.
I play only 1v1 so I'm not sure what are you talking about. In 1v1 Elephant and lefh are kinda whatever.
Have you ever tried 222s with Spotting Scopes before?
222 with a scope is good, but you it's not even close to the OPness of command vehicle. You have to get 222 to vet 2 and he has line of sight. And commanders with scopes are kinda crappy anyways.
They are WAY too powerful for 210 manpower. They can move into static pioneers in the heavy cover and annihilate them. Not only that but also they can move into static grenadiers from max range and win. And that's even without bolster. I mean who even needs infantry sections when you have those little bastards?
How the hell did he even get a bofors up in the first place? Without the AEC, brits have 0 counters against the 222 (only doctrinal tank hunter sections). You could have just gotten 1 or 2 of those and pushed him off the field before he could get a bofors up.
I could also get 1 or 2 of those and got destroyed by sudden AEC. You'll never know when this thing can appear. I played defensively with a sniper and mg and focused on my half of the map while he put a bofors on his. When I noticed it it was already too late.
