The main menu has some of the laziest UI design you can think of.
That is actually true. The main menu, the looks, the buttons, the feel etc... it's like a time travel back to 2005
I am pretty sure it will get a major pass down the line. CoH2 main menu also looked completely different in 2013 for those who were around then |
It's not about the current state of the store, it's about the store setup and pricing showing that monetization in CoH3 will be very, very aggressive. This includes skins for now, but will surely extend to battlegroups and factions down the line as well.
Not necessarily. It's a pretty random example I know, but in another, popular game I play called "Dead by Daylight", a premium cosmetic skin for one character costs 11€ on average while a new chapter -which includes two new playable characters and 6 new playable perks- costs 7€
Wait for the new CoH3 battlegroups and see how much they cost, and then let's complain afterwards if it's a rip-off |
Are you that short on cash Sega/Relic?
The fact that there is only english voice-over now as well as the dozen other hints should have made it absolutely clear to you by now that Relic is -in fact- not raking in millions of dollars that they can spend however they want, so why keep asking like this?
Releasing the store in the game's current state is indeed a terrible blow to Relic's reputation, but at least there is no outrageous pay2win desaster like in CoH2.
Yes, the skins apart from the highlight 1000 merit ones are terribad rip-off deals but nobody forces you to buy them. |
StuG III Ds are abysmal vs anything better armored than a Stuart and AT guns pen that 210 with little difficulty. They have nice anti-inf cluster performance but let's not pretend it's a Tommy deleting machine. AT boy squads outrange it and 2 will beat it consistently. If one uses the StuG III D in places with lots of LoS blockers (to mitgate AT gun power) then it's asking to eat snares.
If you can make the Stuka work in the huge med tank spam meta, I salute you o7. Delaying your Pz III Ls that much is literally asking for you and your army to get rolled by Crusaders and 76mm Shermans. Unless you are already winning of course.
StuG has a longrange smoke launcher vs AT guns after the upgrade, and on what planet do two AT rifle squads beat the StuG?? Go run some tests yourself. And at vet 1 you can easily shoot at them from far away, especially on a lane map
Delaying your p3 doesnt matter at all when you have 25 fuel tank destroyers that out-rotate shermans and crusaders trying to circle them from 3 meters away |
It's like there is a strict pipeline set in place for updates that is so rigid and inflexible
I think that's the case yes |
As DAK, you are playing the COH2 OKW vs UKF experience and then some. So go play WM unless you're prepared to deal with the uphill struggle ahead of you.
What are you on about? With 210 armor Stug Ds, Propaganda arty (which you can't counter), combined arms counter blob and the stuka, DAK has one of the best if not the best tools in the whole game to counter the current "blob near a heal truck" meta |
Even though I doubt that any significant amount of resources was diverted from the gameplay team to implement the store, for sure it took time off the main menu UI devs that could've been used to update the main menu properly. There's still a ton of stuff missing there, besides the arguably poor overal design.
And even though I personally don't think that that's such a big deal, I do feel Relic made a very big PR mistake by pushing the store (which is a bit controversial too on the economic side) while the game is in this bad of a release state. I get that they want to make money, but this seems to be actively hurting the fanbase's perception and reviews and ultimately sales in the long run. Which scares me a bit because the core of the game is fun and has a ton of potential, and I'm sure that Relic will eventually patch this game far beyond CoH2 if they keep supporting it. But if sales stagnate because of bad public reception/reviews caused by this rocky release and follow-up, then they or Sega might just pull the plug early.
yeh true |
I'm gonna say this patch is a disappointment for the multiplayer base, especially teamgames, and I'm hoping a real balance patch along with replays and player names is coming very soon...
I am really disappointed by now.
Releasing the game half broken, then only minor fixes after one month, followed by a focus on an ingame store that has manipulative selling strategies and accompany this by a token "freemium" system as an excuse just shows that Relic has no interest in releasing a quality game. There's so much stuff missing from the main game, and their focus is on a predatory store.
But I really don't get where people are coming from with this "they prioritized the store over fixing the game or adding features!", like how exactly do you come to the conclusion that they pulled manpower & resources away from balance patches and features so that they can rush the store out? In fact, it is very likely that it's completely separate teams working on those things.

Nice one |
I think it's safe to say that Pathfinders along with USF is dead in teamgames now, at least for a while |
