I mean, don't get me wrong I hate when people go on about "P2W" and stuff and appreciate new commanders but there is a certain amount of laziness where a little extra attention to detail (like new unit skins or the proper flamethrower) would add to the final product that we are buying. Thread: Hotfix for the Hotfix please!1 Mar 2016, 14:29 PM Where did the "couple of weeks" come from? I assumed the future blog post that Cuddle mentioned would give the ETA. Either way Relic needs to get a move on... since they broke defensive vet bonuses too the game feels pretty bad to play it just revolves around how many upgraded squads you can keep alive. :/ In: Lobby

The reality is that the game was badly broken for a single day before they hotfixed it to make it playable at least. It wasn't the end of the world. If the patch had worked nobody would have given a crap that Relic busted their ass to get it out on time as promised AND fixed the Vet bug. Likewise those same people would have been equally salty if the patch was delayed. Yes, Relic probably needs to hire better programmers but that doesn't justify targeting Brad because he's the figurehead of balance. Frankly I don't blame him for being a bit sassy on streams when he deals with a ton of players who just shitpost because he doesn't adopt their pet balance ideas when its pretty clear that they just need to improve. Especially they they don't know anything about game design or programming. Maybe "simple" fixes aren't so simple. In: Lobby
Thread: Poll: Relic26 Feb 2016, 20:07 PM No matter what Relic does some portion of the community is always going to say that the game isn't balanced. I don't think its particularly helpful to make a poll whose subtext is "Gee whiz, Relic sure is incompetent - Will they ever get their shit together?" They've been making incremental improvements to this game ever since they fixed the Volk/Ober deathblobs a while back. (A lot of improvements which people take for granted a few patches later) Yes they have missteps like making the regrettable decision to rush the patch yesterday but that doesn't change the fact that they are actively working towards "true balance". Besides, unless you want them to stop making new content then "true balance" is never going to happen because new content will always require things to be tweaked. In: Lobby

Being able to buy it back can be exploited to be picked up by other squads... You could say the same thing about PanzerGren shreks though. Besides, nobody in their right mind is going to purposely bleed MP getting theirs squads shot at hoping that PTRS will drop AND that they are able to recover it instead of the enemy to try and "exploit" buyback. Brad even said the T34/76 is fine where its at. Nobody brought up the Su85, or the Katyusha in what I saw. The only thing that I have ever seen from their streams is that Penals may get buffed, and maxim will be nerffed. Infact a lot of the answers players got from Brad and Kyle is basically L2P saying " Well low level players may have an issue with that mechanic " and then minutes later they said " Well we don't always take pro's opinions when balancing the game " and then also saying " We try and design the game for players of all levels to enjoy " Could you be anymore contradicting ? Games either balanced or it's not.. stop hiding behind peoples skill levels and just straight up admit " Yea we got some problems, but we're working on them " Brad did make a one-off comment about "looking to make Soviet T4 more appealing" but didn't really expand much more on that. To be fair to Relic you're kind of distorting what they said. It was much closer to "Counters exist to different strategies and we aren't going to make balance changes just because some people can't use them properly unless the data shows us otherwise" and "We use feedback from all levels of play except when the ELO between players is far apart because the skill difference distorts the data" I don't really understand why people expect Brad to be all rainbows and sunshine when 80% of the stream messages from players consist of "Do this unrelated change you've never talked about before!" or just trolling in general. Though it was a pretty stupid idea for him and Kyle to play a scrub 2vs2 match while trying to answer questions. lol In: Lobby
Thread: Guards Infantry PTRS Buyback25 Feb 2016, 04:00 AM During the Relic Stream today it was brought up that Guards Infantry can't buyback their PTRS if it gets dropped. Brad mentioned that this would be a bug if it happens, just wanted to get it in writing so that it could properly get added to the database if it hadn't been already. In: COH2 Bugs
