Thread: SU changes8 Mar 2016, 18:07 PM Personally I've always wanted to like the KV-1 but its terrible main gun always did it in for me. I like the idea of a more expensive one with a better gun (or maybe less scatter for better AI). SU really lacks a meatshield for SU-85s so I think it fills a nice hole in the Soviet arsenal. T34-76 side tech will probably help make them more relevant through better timing. Overall I like the idea. I don't think Penals will need a buff after Vet fix. Does this mean CounterAttack Tactics gets KV-2? lol In: COH2 Balance
Thread: "Eternal crusade" or MG-42 vs M1910 Maxim 8 Mar 2016, 14:58 PM Thing with Maxims is you get out a lot more out of them with more micro having them constantly shifting and switching targets to support Conscripts and your elite infantry. Sounds like OP just wants Maxims to be "set and forget" defensive pieces when they aren't designed to work that way (or at least effectively work that way). They work perfectly fine as offensive HMG - you just need to practice using them away. tl:dr Don't use Maxims like MG42s and you won't be disappointed. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Should Artillery be limited, and if so, to how much?8 Mar 2016, 14:04 PM From someone who only plays 1s and 2s (which the game is balanced around) this doesn't seem like a good idea - if someone goes super heavy on artillery they usually get punished for it enough by not having enough screening troops and will get overrun. I can see how this might be an issue in larger team games but I think its best to not limit strategies by artificial limits if a team wants one player to be mainly indirect fire. Afterall, the draw of larger team games is for teammates to make up for each other's army weaknesses like that. In: COH2 Balance

The counters are there its just that Helm's Deep commander is annoying to crack and forces you into either a war or attrition or to just cap around his SIM city. Thread: Building Survivability7 Mar 2016, 17:55 PM What is everyone's thoughts on building survivability following the "grenade damage to building" change from the last patch? It feels like all explosives are doing more damage to buildings - not just grenades. Even then, last night I had a full health church collapse on me after just 2 grenades and it feels a bit excessive. I agree with the intent behind Relic's change because previously there wasn't much disincentive to camp garrisons but I feel like the grenade damage can be dialed back a tad. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: AEC shitty AF once again7 Mar 2016, 17:44 PM Its in a good place now. Its role is a light tank hunter that can threaten mediums and it does that just fine. It's buffed MG also means that it can threaten infantry and weapon teams. I believe Brad said its close to a Gren LMG42 in damage. You can't expect it to be a T70 on steroids that can do everything - its too much. It should be able to handle a lone shreked Volks just fine - just push them around so they can't fire shrek. At point blank the MG makes short work of them with the buff. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: How to make the t3476 useful7 Mar 2016, 17:37 PM I like the idea of buffed Hull MGs - it was a good compromise fix to the AEC that buffed its AI without making it obnoxious and T34 would benefit as well I think. For me T34 is lackluster because if you go straight for it then you get less AI shock value than T70 or M5 and better MGs would help there. Overhauled Ram would be good too its pretty useless now except as a "well I"m losing this tank anyway" ability. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: 45mm M-42 AT - Why?7 Mar 2016, 17:26 PM The few times its been used against me it seems to snipe infantry a lot more than other AT gun but that might just be me. In theory they might be worth it if you need a quick response to a 222 or Luches if you are unprepared (though I wonder how many hits it takes now with the 222 health buff lol) Relic should give it cloak and retreat like Raken In: COH2 Balance
