10 minutes is also enough to scare them. |
The 0.50 is a weapon used by warplanes, for AA role (quad) and in real life it is extremely difficult to move with hands much like the Dshk. The round are allot bigger than that of LMGs.
Spent around 15 months as a M2 gunner, and I'm pretty sure I can speak for anyone who's ever been a 50-gunner in saying you'd be told in a heartbeat to fuck off and die in a fire if you told me I had to lug that thing around on foot. M2+tripod weights around 120-130lbs (~55KG). Each 100 round can of ammo comes in at around another 30-35lbs. The way it's employed in game is laughable from a real-world perspective.
IRL the Finns carried their AT-guns in the forest. For example in the Cold War period the Finnish conscripts used to carry the Musti AT-gun in the forest. The weight of only the gun is 140kg (308,6lbs). Nowadays the Finns carry the Anti-Tank Missile System in the forest, when every other army uses a vehicle for this. |
I think all MGs have that problem. Any infantry that comes inside the cone should be suppressed across all armies.
Maybe not suppress all infantry that comes inside the cone, but instead the MGs should kill more units from the blob. |
The blobs (either Axis or Allied) destroys the game. The MGs should be stronger, but then the people complain that they are too OP, because they can't counter the MG. But I would prefer stronger MGs.
Now I usually use 2 MGs close to each other in a sector where I suspect the blob coming from. Both MG-42 and Vickers are good at stopping blobs, if used in pairs. But they do not kill the blobs as in real life, and that is sad. |
Can't be done. They use a certain engine, they don't make nor change it.
That is bad news, because of this game's survivability depends on that.
If they want to make CoH2 survive longer, they must optimize. If they dont, this game will die faster, and it is not sure, if enough people starts to play CoH3 or some other game done by Relic in the future. |
we discuss about future not now
i agree, for now relic should focus on new features and improve engine
Then we agree on this.
Africa Corps with battle maps in both Africa and Italy would be a nice DLC in 2016. But in the future when we have completely different game graphics, they should make CoH3 as a WW2 game, because people are interested in historical and real wars. |
It's as much about maps as unit stats. [...]
As for 3v3 and 4v4 where late game is more important those game modes will forever favour those certain factions with a stronger late game.
I agree that it is also about maps. My opinion is that they should always try to balance the 1vs1 first.
One of the problems in 4vs4 is the high fuel income, because it brings the heavy tanks out too fast and it doesn't encourage to unit preservation. That problem could be solved with better automatch maps. For example maps with less or even without fuelpoints, then the 4vs4 could be more like 1vs1 in bringing out the heavy tanks later. |
I don't think modern combat would be the way to go, as the fanbase (in my opinion) consists out of people who are very interested and feel a certain "attraction" to WOII. So changing that would basically rule out a lot of people.
I agree. If Relic make a new CoH in the future, it should be WW2. It is their speciality.
I don't even like modern combat games, because the games can never predict what will happen in modern combat between superpowers with the best weapons available. Therefore I like more historical games, because they try to depict what has actually happened. |
I have two objections to CoH3
1) I don't think CoH3 will work unless Relic gives proof for that they can optimize CoH2 and make it more popular to a greater number of active players.
2) Then it is useless to make a new version of this game, when a great number of players can't play CoH2 on best graphics settings. If they do a new WW2 game right now, it is only the hardcore players that can and will play it.
Instead they should improve and optimize this game more and more, like they do with for example Euro Truck Simulator 2 (which improved graphics when they launched the Scandinavia DLC) and try to get new players who actually play this game. They should earn their money through DLCs instead, for example launch Africa Corps in 2016. |
Don't touch the German optics. This feature is only on 2 commanders, and gives these commanders one particular ability that the other commanders doesn't have. Without this ability, the number of commanders which people actually use in the game, becames even smaller. |
