Stalin lost records amount of men before destroying an entire German army at stalingrad and nearly did so again at korsun-cherkassy pocket. furthermore at one point there were more Axis soldiers in the beginning in certain zones and almost the same infantry numbers at Kursk. That changed entirely after operation citadel. See the pattern? More, even, less.

You more or less agree with me anyway, how can you not spam with out the ability to call in units indefinitely?

i speak from a 2v2 point of view. ost has no chance, 4 guys die quickly with those heat seeking 120mm mortars, not to mention spamming guards will be a classic tactic.

many games i hold the upper hand early game until the allies have enough troops to blow me away.

It wasn't legendary when SU-100 and better and 76mm sherman and better and 17 pounder showed up.
It was a legendary target practice then.

Its not its performance that got it to legendary status, but propaganda really.
Over engineered, breaking left and right, few and perfectly countered by late war allied guns.
