Thread: Favourite Theater of War Mission5 Feb 2014, 05:48 AM In the original CoH campaign you had two missions where you had 'X' minutes to prepare for an enemy assault. One was in a village. You could mine, wire, set up MGs and generally anticipate enemy routes into the battlefield. When the enemy attacked it was brilliant - some of your plan worked like a dream and some of it went tits-up. I remember playing that a number of times and trying different tactics. I like shaping the battlefield, and defensive sort of games allow you to do that. By shaping I don't mean simply building stuff, I mean the ability to use my resources to influence the way the enemy has to act. CoH2 sort of lacks that (for me) and although I've enjoyed about 75% of the ToW content I've played this would make it even better. In: COH2 Gameplay

Do we know anything more about this game? Can Relic enlighten us? I am intrigued. As an aside, CoH2.org community, what was your longest game? Was it cool as hell or just a grind? Mine was two hours on Montargis in vCoH (I was Wehr and had a brilliant back-and-forth on the ammo hill with a Brit opponent for most of it). In: Lobby

OK, I mainly play team games, but with two or three decent infantry units this is a force to be reckoned with and there isn't much it can't deal with. I stand by my earlier post, in my last game I made three Panthers as my core force and lolocoptered them all over the map with Blitz. The Soviet players weren't bad, but the speed of the panthers made it easy for me to flank their AT guns and, yes, crush their blob of Guards trying to button me. In: COH2 Balance

Almost all teamgames end with germans just spamming them non-stop and there really isn't anything the soviets can do even though it's such an obvious and cheap tactic. It really needs a more effective counter. This. Germans spam them then vet them (Elite Commander) to vet 1. This allows them to switch on their lolocopter turbo drive, swarm through ZiS / SU-85 positions and go apeshit killing everything. Every team game I play ends up doing this. I make SU85s, lay demo charges and mines and it still doesn't stop the Panther horde. I haven't seen a PIV for a while now. I think a slight fuel hike for the panther would be fair, it really is a great breakthrough tank even if it's AI isn't all that. Against AT guns and vehicles it is superb. In: COH2 Balance
