Which stats grens have reduced all the time? Because they are very solid squad, being the cheapest mainline in game right next to cons. Because tommies have lower DPS and lower received accuracy out of cover. IS get boosts when in cover - stop twisting facts. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Easy USF fix3 Oct 2019, 10:55 AM The rule of a thumb should be simply to make units that have more abilities more expensive. Then everybody discussing balance issues could decide - Do I want a unit that has ability X and because of it is more expensive, or do I prefer a unit that hasn't got this ability and is cheaper? So far only price/damage/health relationships have been analysed from the balance standpoit while there should be discussions like why is unit with many abilities as expensive as a unit without them. That should be left for pios and engineers. +1 (same with crit repairs - should be left to dedicated engineer units, for example) ...but since cons and IS build sandbags grens shouldn't be left like that (most importantly they are too predictably tied to map cover since pios are generally overworked). This one particularly made by derbyhat would in my mind fit the supposed role of g43s perfectly. I'm totally on the side of g43s getting their cost increased and getting a small buff if they remain at 2cp. Another possible way to make them better without us seeing blobs of g43s that came to my mind would be to mirror the properties of other scoped axis weapons like JLI g43s and obers infra stgs: Just slightly boost the accuracy against units behind cover. Opponent would be punished for trying to engage in static warfare at medium range and would be forced to either advance to the short range or withdraw to gain more favourable engagement. This would finally make use of that dps on the move speciality as they could chase after the withdrawing units. +1 In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Vetted 7 man conscripts vs vetted lmg grens..3 Oct 2019, 09:45 AM Jump back to quoted post3 Oct 2019, 09:38 AMgbem The conscript/grenadier balance is fine... what makes ost difficult is the lack of a "penal battalion" analog that allows it to crutch against rifles... the real solution here isnt to buff grens but to re nerf rifles and penals I guess you're right here (especially the fact that penals are still quite potent against ost infantry having ugraded ptrs) In: COH2 Balance

Also, its getting hard countered by 222. Extra utilities you don't pay for have always been a balance problem. They have never been addressed so far as most players don't seem to realise how much they affect the gameplay. Players mostly analyse raw killing power usually forgetting about the softer aspercts of given units (repair speeds have been addrressed recently to some extend though, healing a bit too). The game is really well balanced for an assymetrical rts - now it is time to polish up such details (free bazooka crew, for example) to make it even better. USF basically has many useful non directly combat related abilities that are overlooked by many players but they are there and are very useful) To "fix", as sb suggested in the title of the post, the faction maight mean analysing thoroughly how much they affect gameplay. My opinion in that, for example, sherman is the best medium in the game (cost/performance/utility ratio perspective), especially in 1v1. In: COH2 Balance
