Thread: A Few Popcap Readjustments 16 Sep 2015, 09:29 AM After the changes to the pop-cap of heavies made in the new patch, I thought it might be worthwhile to look over the population used up by some of the other units and see if it was in-line with their actual value. Thread: Countering US flamer blob15 Sep 2015, 07:04 AM Just concentrate fire with your Grenadiers and then retreat squads as soon as they start getting hit with the flames. The US manpower bleed will start to add up pretty quickly and your Grenadiers will start to accumulate a lot of veterancy. Also, StuG spam is pretty potent vs. E8s. Personally, I'd try to get one or two StuGs and then a Command Panzer IV if I were facing this. In: Ostheer Strategies

Thread: Pak40 to T1 - it's needed.14 Sep 2015, 09:08 AM I'm still trying to figure out how a Soviet player, with Conscripts, Maxims, mortars, and the ZiS in T2 is not overpowered, but an Ostheer player with access to Grenadiers, MG42s, mortars, and the PaK is clearly imbalanced. I'm not advocating that the PaK get moved to T1 - I don't want to see the change made - but there are definitely some logical fallacies getting thrown about here. Also - 222 is much cheaper then M20 and hardcounters it. Yes, except it's also much worse against infantry. That's like saying a T-34 is better than a Katyusha because tanks kill mobile artillery. Thread: Infantry Squads And Population13 Sep 2015, 10:09 AM Minor suggestion, but I'd like to see the way that population is calculated for infantry squads changed. Right now, each individual soldier uses up a certain amount of population (say 1.75). This creates a couple of problems when your army approaches the population limit of 100. First, you can have instances where you can't fully reinforce an infantry squad, because doing so would put you over the population limit. Second, you can have an issue where, for example, you're using 92.5 population and therefore cannot buy a unit costing 8 population. Therefore I'd like to suggest that the population cost of infantry be calculated on a per-squad rather than per-entity basis. This would mean that a Grenadier squad, for example, would still use 7 population up even if only two of its members are actually alive. This minor change would solve both the issues listed above. Thread: LeIG is too effective11 Sep 2015, 19:43 PM It's not overpowered. I don't recall anybody complaining about the LeIG before the Brits got added to the game. The problem is that the UKF's design - with small squads that need to be in cover to be effective and lots of static emplacements - makes them especially vulnerable to this weapon. A comparable situation would be, I dunno, the ML-20 against the OKW. It's not that the ML-20 is overpowered, it's just that it takes advantage of a fundamental weakness in the OKW's design.
