edit: im stupid, unless this person is actualyl talking about coh3 which is hard to tell |
Oh come on. With all due respect, the 4v4 is such a mess of a mode that it's impossible to tell who's buying and who's paying. Played 2 competitive 4v4 games that were just arty after arty after arty. Even in custom games, it's arty after arty and KT after KT after Jagd after Elefant. On one side you have walls of SU85s, Jacksons and Fireflies. On the other walls of JP4s and [super]heavies. Behind them are walls of indirects and in the middle are the poor bastards that need to cap the VP only to get war-crimed on their ass. Whether by white phosphorous or just good old rockets. Guts flying everywhere. At least in 3v3 you play 1v1 on each VP lane. 4v4 is the biggest turd of a mode with the least skill involved. Well, unless you count pressing lots of "barrage" buttons as skill.
I'm not saying 3v3 is worse than 4v4 in my opinion. I am just saying that there are barely any equally matched high skill games happening in 3v3. |
Whiteball is not really unbalanced. There are some stupid placements and imbalances but overall for 3v3 you have some flanking options. Problem is that on that map I've seen just braindead head against the wall around the mid VP. You have VPs on the margins on the map that allow for some good flanking options but most allies just seem too keen to park TDs on mid and slug it out against super heavies or JP4s. The mid houses are poorly placed and favour MG42 spams massively but overall it's well balanced. One of the few 3v3 maps where you can flank an MG covering the fuel. Pak/raketen/stug/JP4 walls are extremely efficient on that map though. Extremely. Still, it's better than the cancer called Hill400 which is a wide map but severely imbalanced and favours fussie blobs and a couple of MG42s can shut down the entire half of the map. Few flanking options as well.
I'm talking 4v4, 3v3 is impossible to judge because it doesn't have enough competent players. |
USF is almost unplayable in top 200 2v2 without pathfinders, but that is because of the current state of maps in that mode. Nearly all the good riflemen maps like Stadtschutt or Lierneux got patched out and replaced with super open lane maps such as Belgorod, Baku or Wolfheze where riflemen get bullied back to base by A-move LMG grens, volks blobs and Obers.
This trend of replacing urban and/or big sightblocker maps with open lane-camp stalefest maps is going on since years and now you all get the ingame results for it......
Riflemen rely purely on many sightblockers since their smoke nade got removed, and if the map doesn't offer it then they are shit tier garbage.
Never agreed more with a post on this site. Why was stadtschutt removed? Because people don't like maps that don't allow them to stay in their "double pak, LMG blob, a-move" comfort zone. So many good maps have been removed because of this and they are replaced by overrated lane maps because it is obvious how to play those.
Case in point: Whiteball is the most popular 4v4 map even though it is an unbalanced piece of garbage. But it makes people feel comfortable EVEN when playing with the side that is disadvantaged by the map.
Also, I don't even think pathfinder blobs are that good in 2v2. It is very easy to lose to them if you're not on top of your game but once you know what's coming it should be possible to overrun them. However, this requires good team coordination which is almost non existent. |
Am I the only one who thinks it's still the best or maybe second best US commander? Would love to hear top player's opinions on this but the top 200 popularity ranking is definitely not representative of its strength. |
whiteball and arnhem are not good choices, should change to hill400 and steel work. more balanced for top players.
Is steel works balanced tho? Seems axis favored? It's also a trash map in terms of design and flow. |
Paratroopers being overpowered is the real issue, not pathfinders.
Pathfinder strats inevitability include LMG Paras that shred everything and reinforce on the field. Basically free forward reinforce at 0 cost. Incredibly dumb, not to mention map hack beacons. Limit beacon maphack range and slow down Para reinforce speed, then remove Paras shooting M1919s on the move.
Paras are irrelevant in top level teamgames. Even if you lose a Path you rebuild it rather than get a para. |
I dont think you had to preface your statements here. Your comments do not seem that harsh to me.
The game is not in a playable state, that is the point. It has not been in a playable state for a long time (Forever?).
Since you guys have trouble with reading comprehension (most do not speak english as your first language), I will continue to try and help you.
* The matchmaking on the server is broken.
* Has been forever.
* Relic could fix it easily in 30 minutes.
* But instead they spend 100's of hours jerking themselves off about Coh3. Because they do not care about YOU, the coh2 player. YOUR experience in coh2 means nothing to them. Just like DOW3, Relic has abandoned the game. But the coh2 community are a bunch of little simps that keep licking Relics balls no matter how many times they shit on your chest.
* I care about you and your playing experience 1000 times more than Relic does.
Was that clear enough for everyone?
Should I rephrase it again?
If you understand what I wrote, please post a simple "YES" here so I can leave this site forever.
BLACK ADMINS: if 10 people post yes here, please delete my account from Coh2.org.
well, what you're saying is just factually wrong. CoH2 is obviously in a playable state. The issue also isn't reading comprehension. It's that your rants are barely coherent lately. Yes the matchmaking is suboptimal but it's not broken in the sense that it doesn't work. It's not optimized but it works. And yes, maybe it could be improved with very little effort but you still blow the whole thing way out of proportion. And btw there is no objectively perfect way for the matchmaking to do the "quick game vs balanced game" weighting. |
Classic Relic. We dont have 30 minutes to fix the garbage match making on our server but lets waste a week making a video about how cool our stuff is for the lemmings ready to spend money on our broken trash.
Very sad to see this. Just ridiculous. They should be ashamed.
I'm gonna buy coh3 collectors edition as soon as pre order becomes available simply because I spent 3000 hours on CoH2, a game I spent maybe 100 bucks on at most. CoH2 also just isn't broken. Idk what game you're playing. It's poorly optimized but in terms of functionality it's fine. |
Every time I read your entries, I have the impression you're a Asperger person. This or having a serious superiority complex.
Most/all people blame on their faults on opponent or mechanisms because its human nature to do that. It takes a lot of self reasoning to pass through it.
Now specially for Coh2 the main reason for that is the amount of information someone must know to master each faction and be able to perform this rational analysis and the little available access to it. Some people may have it easier to master it than other, remain the fact that all Top players accumulate much more dedicated hours to the game than others. New almost-top players like Elpern or AngryDutch have spend tremendous amount of time on the game to reach their current level, something unreachable for 99% of player base.
So comparing their knowledge and capacity to reason on Coh2 mechanisms to regular player's one does not make sense at all and even more considering the latest as trash for that.
Now each faction requires a different way to play the game and players of all factions blame their own mistake on mechanisms or other players, not only USF one's. And USF is at the moment the less forgiving faction and the only one without late game dedicated units on their stock roster. No heavy tank, no rocket arty, no soaking damage behemoth.
Here there isn't a question of understanding the mechanism because everyone understand rapidly that in order to match Axis late game level you must pick Calliope or Priest every time on team game. Or doing the Path-Scott strat which is seen more and more regularly from 2vs2 to 4vs4 at all levels.
Let's remember that because Axis players considered that a Jackson having a chance to bounce at max range from a P4 was unbalanced, balance team nerfed the Jackson's armor.
Because Axis players considered that Calliope was too hard to dive, they nerfed its armor so it can't bounce anymore and its health so it dies in two shots.
And now we have Axis players considering that the already heavily nerfed Scott is too good with pathfinder to nerf both units.
Perfect example of what I was talking about. Ofc your response is a rant about late game unit choices when in reality they don't matter one bit for 90% of players. Funnily enough tehre are plenty of people on this forum who lack the experience of elpern and dutchman but still have a good understanding of the game and are perfectly capable of debating balance in a reasonable manner. Examples would be chuko, mmx or stormjäger. Conversely, you actually have a lot of ingame experience but you always fall into the trap of faction bias and blaming balance for your own mistakes. Maybe you should work on your positioning first? Learn how to use units correctly before starting to complain about unit rosters? Or don't and keep enjoying the game playing however you want, that is fine as well. But then don't act like you can make any statements on balance.
Edit: Oh also, pls don't diagnose people with things that you don't understand. |
