Exactly. Germans had a lot of different units in the WWII, and there is a "GERMAN WAR MACHINE SUPERIORITY" myth around them which makes them a viable choice for game design. There are still a lot of unused late game vehicles as you said.
But the main problem is, can they design a unique gameplay?
Well Ostheer could use Hetzer, make it better than StuG III (tougher). It could be an effective tank destroyer that Ostheer doesn't currently have, the StuG III is multi-role, good at AT and AI but excels at none.
PS: I would love to see a Wespe for Ostheer doctrine Relic, LeFH sucks too much

A nerf to the conscript PTRS is justified, just nerf the accuracy a little. On guards its fine, they were pretty bad before the PTRS buff. |
You do understand that a blob of 4 cons without PTRS would just molotov the lone MG and steal it?
So destroying the support weapons goes both ways.
Only difference is that once a player sees a molotov being thrown at his MG, he retreats, however, when they see a blob of PTRS cons shooting at them, they don't retreat, and therefore lose the gun.
However, when a Molotov is thrown you can get away, PTRS blobs can melt it, if the weapon dies all 4 crew die at once, not 1 by 1, that is the OP part. |
Hmm, perhaps they could approach this differently, they could have the British, BUT later on have another German faction that represents the forces fighting in Italy through 1943-1945. I know people don't want another German faction, however this one could include elements of the Italian military with German heavy call-ins/tanks. Britain could get a campaign that is set in Italy as they did fight there. This is just an idea, since Africa would be a little too early in the war. |
T34/76 needs either a cost reduction so it is easier to outnumber the enemy, or better hull mgs to make them more decent AI tanks.
Though I still support making T34/85s nondoctrinal with the regular HP pool and armor of the current t34/76.
Then what will be the fate of the T34/76? What if they gave an upgrade for 76 that up-guns it like shermans from coh1. It could cost, say, 100 munitions and 20 fuel for 85mm (just a draft price), and that way T34s would be viable and allow soviets some wiggle room for call-ins. HOWEVER this could be OP, imagine T34/85s with ISU/IS2 *shivers*. |
I think they need some kind of buff, but really don't know in what direction. Maybe scale better for late game. Something like Vet 3 Increased penetration. If you rush for a t34 and you get your enemy by surprise, they perform very well. But as the game goes on, they become obsolete.
Hmm, perhaps at vet 3 they get the 85mm gun, this would increase usefulness while not making t34/85 doctrines useless, you will need to get it up, whereas callin will be instant and scale better with its own vet. |
they changed it to ballistic, odd, they must have undid it. Perhaps it is a bug. Was on page 4 of change log, so it could interact with buildings differently. |
There was something in change log months ago about that, something about it killing buildings or something, can't recall. Gonna go check. |
Interesting, perhaps they could be similar to panzer elite from coh1 a fast mechanised force with glass cannons? I admit Italian warfare is not my strongpoint, I do recall they were excellent at digging in and defending (not sure though). This would be refreshing, coh2 could use a faction focused on transports and speed. |
What were the Italians meant to do, their armour was useless compared to British tanks. Also most of the Axis in Europe were small, with neither the population or the economy to field armies on the scale of Russia or Germany. As a faction they might work, they would need german armor to be competitive with other factions. They would be better suited as a doctrine for Ostheer perhaps.
Also, by Afrika Korps I meant the Itallian and German forces, would love to see italian infantry and tankettes, and it would be a golden opportunity to see the Panzer III. |
