Thread: Coh2 vs Coh1 comparison24 Aug 2017, 17:46 PM I actually went back to coh 1 a few days ago and played some 1v1 AT. Was fun, but ridiculously easy after having sunk 1200hrs+ into coh 2. Everything just goes at a slow and welcome pace. I think this kinda goes to show that coh 2 is a bit harder and more unforgiving. Especially in the resource game. And this in the end turned alot of people off due to the new learing curve. Coh 2 also feels more fastpaced and way less clunky than coh 1. Imo coh 2 is better and more fun nowadays, but thats probably just me. In: Lobby

The super pershing is absolutely out of question. If you find anything telling you about battle usage of super pershing its pure propaganda. There were much more Pershings in Europe than there were Ostwinds and Jagtigers in existance. But of course those among a few others just pass under the radar. The Churchill variants can take shots with their HP. The Tiger on the other hand - while lacking the HP pool of the Churchills - is more reliably penetrated by what I would call "middle class AT" (Easy 8, T-34/85, lend lease Shermans, Comet, M10, on shorter ranges even by the Cromwell). These vehicles all struggle with the KT and will seriously threaten a Tiger from the front. Two will easily finish it. I´m just asking for a bit more frontal armor to reduce the chance of frontal penetrations. Currently that happens quite often. 30 or so points to the frontal armor is totally adequate. Also you still haven´t told me what the Panther is good for when StuGs totally out-dps it. Iirc the StuG reload is 4 seconds, the Panthers reload is 6.25 seconds. For a 640 HP T-34 the Stug will need 16 seconds, while the Panther will need 25 seconds. With the ready aim time and other factors this might differ but only marginally so. If thats the case than id like to see the M26 buffed in the very same way as well including HP. And what the Panther is good for is being a glorified TD with a turret and nice speed, there is few mediums in game that can actually duel with it. Its been meta since release and continues to be to this day, just because its so good at shutting down any allied medium tank and especially the cheapo ones at that. Meanwhile a Stug is really not that hard to kill with any medium in the game. Getting a Panther kinda makes the purchase of a cromwell or a standard M4 a shot in the foot for the allied player. Tell me one situation where I should get a Panther over 2 or 3 StuGs? They will melt down even the IS-2 faster than the Panther ever could. The only advantage the Panther has I could think of is the turret and the ability to chase a Jackson. But that is only possible when your opponent is making huge mistakes and can be done by the Panzer IV as well (higher dps). The Tiger can´t tank effectively. It get´s penetrated from the rear when flanked (as it should) but it also gets regularily penetrated from the front. Either way you have to drive out the Tiger after some seconds. It is simply frustrating not to be able to move it into a favourable position. I´m also reasonably high ranked with Ostheer before the l2p arguments start. Like any other expensive Heavy tank in the entire freaking game, what do you want, some unrealistic and unproportional heavy tank advantage? If theres any heavy tank that should get a hp buff or anything like that then its the M26, thats the definition of a heavy tank that cant "tank". Eitherway the moral of the story is that i do not think that any heavy tank should be able to just sit infront of masses of at guns and tank destroyers and just shrug off all the shots. (for example in different book written by some US guy I can see Tiger with 45km/h while Pershing 46km/h on road). As for the off road, Ive found that Pershing was about 8-12km/h, while tiger 16-20km/h. But as we see numbers are really different depending on the source. Yet, Im quite confident that Tiger was faster on off road. Yeah so am i, it is better designed for offroad performance compared to on road due to the overlapped torsionbar which evens out the weight more. In: COH2 Gameplay
