Thread: Panther and tier 46 Sep 2014, 14:37 PM I only partly agree. It´s definitely overpriced... but also under-performing. For that cost and an end of the tech tree unit it offers less dps than a Panzer IV. Also it has the health pool of one T-34/85 (which comes in a double pack). The high penetration values offer almost nothing over the gun of a Panzer IV in a game where medium tanks (aka only average armor) are spammed and 50 range can´t be utilized chasing down hostile vehicles. The gun of the Panzer IV however can fire in a faster succession - thus being the better gun overall in most scenarios. That being said: Either give it a faster rate of fire or more health. Snipers used to be balanced in Coh1. Thread: Panzer 4 under preforming 1 Sep 2014, 13:35 PM The Panzer IV received anti infantry buffs throughout the patches. This makes it relatively easy to vet up. With vet 2 it gets quite durable. Thus I think it´s at a fine place. In fact it´s better than a Panther - and that is broken. It has more dps than the Panther and almost penetrates just as easy versus medium tanks. Also the Panzer IV is outperformed by no tech Tigers in every aspect - that´s why it seems a bit weak. If we tied call in tanks to tech and made the Panther better, the Panzer IV would shine again as an available multi-purpose tank, while the Panther would actually fight armor and the Tiger wouldn´t be as numerous but a breakthrough tank for special situations. Thread: Soviet Snipers Squad are not fun31 Aug 2014, 10:54 AM The problem is that the two man sniper squad isn´t only much harder to take down than the Ostheer equivalent. It also comes with the faction that has the most effective omni-prupose mine for 30 munitions. That´s a very bad combination. By the time you´ve got out the first 221, you´ll not only have to face guards, but also can expect two mines around important points. This is standard at a certain level and makes you cautious to use that 221. This combination kills the fun. I agree on a reinforcement cost increase on the Soviet Sniper, too often that second man makes it out alive. At least let losing the first man hurt the player. In: COH2 Balance

In my experience the USA don´t have much of a choice, they are designed around riflemen being used extensively. Imo that requires skill. Soviets on the other hand are just annoying. Either it´s the dual sniper followed by guards and mines, which eventually will destroy any hope of having a fun game. Or it´s durable 6 men maxim crews sitting everywhere. So the real problem lies with the Soviets. As if that wasn´t enough, a neutered Panther is supposed to defeat armies of T-34/85s with mark vehicle leading to late game medium tank spam. A first step of fixing their annoying gameplay would be to make conscripts more attractive and snipers less viable. In: COH2 Gameplay

And, why bother use Panther A as basic model for OKW as COH2 is late war themed don't be lazy please. This. I don´t get why the Panther has the same HP as a T-34/85. Despite being designated as medium tank, the Panther is in the weight- and price-class of an IS-2 (at least for the first Panther) and this should be reflected accordingly. In: COH2 Balance
