Before 5 minutes is risky because you'll be giving up the fuel cache's value in fuel youd get from territory control. But once your main 4-5ish squads are out on the field shifting focus to teching can be smart. it really depends on how the game is going- but dont just keep building infantry simply because youre waiting for fuel.. having more than 4-5 infantry squads is setting you up for defeat as one hard anti-infantry asset could then steamroll you once it comes out. 6 riflemen isnt really better than 4, theyre just a bigger liability. Tank Hunters are highly mobile turreted tanks built for killing enemy tanks one on one. Not sure what your getting at. Heavies make Mediums not viable. Similar to how the Jackson makes Ostheers T3 not AS viable or desirable considering they have a heavy option. The Jackson comparison stands on the AT level. Why would you bother to go Medium if you knew it was voluntarily putting yourself on the backfoot? I sure as hell wouldnt. Give me a Tiger clone as the USF that I can stall for! I would pick it 9/10 times. I'm saying p4 - jackson matchsup is NOTHING like a KT - sherman matchup..jackson keeps tanks at bay. KT ends the game if you dont immediatly have something to deal with it. A nice viable counter to a jackson is simply to not even use your p4 on the frontlines and just wait for the jackson to die. The jackson is a huge risk because if theres no armor to shoot at its wasted resources. the KT is good against all targets, it doesnt have to wait for its prey to appear, and you cant just opt to build units that the KT isnt good against like you can when going against the jackson. It punishs T3 far too hard. It really does. Fighting a Jackson with T3 is akin to trying to kill a King Tiger with Shermans. Sure you may get it EVENTUALLY but youll suffer heavy losses in the meantime. Making it weaker against Mediums and stronger against heavies solves two problems. You always have the option to buy one if he goes Tiger but if Ost goes T3 then Shermans will do (which are much better tanks then the Jackson imho anyway) It gives Ost more viable options. While solving a problem for USF at the same time. thats not comparable at all. if you cant destroy the KT, itll go on to destroy all your infantry, defenses, and then your base. If you cant destroy a jackson, it just sits idle with nothing to do. (I'm not advocating any changes to the jackson though- if anything needs changes its the wolverine) In: COH2 Balance

If the squad is moveing then throw a grenade, they stop moving to do the grenade (incredibly obvious). experienced players never throw grenades outside the throw range for this reason. So if the squad is in range of a grenade, and youre thinking "look im in good range to throw a grenade i ought to do that)"-- your opponent is probably thinking the same thing. The first step is to just assume there will be a grenade, espeically if youre in green cover- second step is to watch for the lead soldier in the squad (one standing towards the front) to do the grenade animation.
