Then they'll be too expansive for their price and people will stop using them. People will also complain that their vet is unreachable etc...
Imo Heavy should have never been more that a better version of premium medium tank as the pershing is.

At the moment they give too much for their cost. You can have a heavy with a decent army size around while your opponent need to cut 30+ popcap only to counter them. Not all heavy are problematic thought, only the generalists that are too good vs anything. Pershing IS2 and tigers (all variants) should have weaknesses and if people don't want to see their stats nerfed, then nerf their popcap, reduce the size of the supportive army around them. I think its just the meta of heavy tanks and there are far more efficient tanks like Su-85 and Kat/T-70s combo. Aside from Lunvest, I rarely see T-34/85 in 2 v 2s. I feel like that, but I'm not even using heavy tanks. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: State of the T34-858 Jan 2020, 13:29 PM
If you're failing with 34/85 you are doing one of these things: Well I did overextend in my first games using them, like I think anybody discovering your unit limits. Then I found myself keeping them away from the frontline because they couldn't really do much than soaking a bit of damage. They are like said good overall tank and maybe it is not what I need with my own gameplay. I just wanted to know different opinions. I find it better to get two specialized units: Katy + SU-85 after a T-70 or a fast T34-75 than 2 T34-85 which are spending too much time in repair in my hands. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: State of the T34-858 Jan 2020, 10:43 AM
I've been playing Soviet lately on 2vs2 and try to make good use of the T34-85 but can't find the right spot for it. The unit is good vs infantry for sure but is it really what you want when you invest into it? I felt like I would build 1 o 2 when I started playing with them but finally came up with the idea T34-76 is better investment for that purpose. If there is a Pz4, T34-85 is better to deal with but with all the snares around I usually not chase in fear to lose the unit (which happened in my first games), a T34-76 at least you know you're not going to chase and keep it safe. If there is a Panther, your T34-85 is like a T34-76 at the end. Su-85 is the way to go in both cases to support your vs the panther so why bother building a T34-85 for 40 more fuel. The unit has maybe more room on 1vs1, don't know. What's your opinion. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: CoH3 Player Retention & Monetization17 Dec 2019, 11:18 AM
I'd also love a revamp version of Coh1 game design with some Coh2 improvment like vaulting on Coh3 game engine. From the few games I played lately with in-game transaction, DOTA2 seems to be the best model to follow. Monetization from Skin models, UI, voice model, voice event, screen loaders etc... I'm not against Relic making money from that. In: Lobby |

It is not like we have a high opinion on Quinn "every game tells a story" Duffy anyway and like he can teach everyone success story's lesson with DoW3 release. I guess (and hope for him) he changed his mind between 2013 and today. Now if we talk only about RTS genre, of course the game and monetization model have to be done from scratch because there is no model available on the market today. The only other RTS game retaining a player base is Starcraft2 but wthe platform used for its lobby is probably paid with WOW subscription. It shouldn't be hard for Sega and Relic to find out that selling cosmetics should be the way to go if they want to make everyone happy. And if they don't, their short coming mind with meet their short coming revenue on the game. RTS genre isn't MOBA with millions of potential players. In: Lobby |

Only real point is the popcap here. But I'm pretty sure something could be done if we decided to align those abilities. In: Lobby |
Thread: Stats from the WCS 20196 Dec 2019, 09:34 AM
I have the feeling stats from the WCS 2019 will certainly shows that Heavy tanks are not in their right place at the moment. They bring too much in comparison with other doctrines and top players choose the best heavy tank doctrine regardless of faction because they know that. Last tourney we had OKW special ops every match for a reason called command panther and now we have Pershing, Tiger or IS2 for the exact same reason. 1 unit micro able to do many things very well and enough resistant to mitigate your own mistakes to a certain extend. In two words: best value. When you call a heavy tank, you pay and have it until it dies. When you call said P47 rocket run, you pay it and it last a moment and leave whenever all planes die or not. And then you have to pay for it again to use it. Now in my opinion, if we would want to have the P47 rocket run (and all other variant from other factions) being competitive (as abilities available from doctrine) with heavy tank as they stand today, we should already apply the same logic. You pay for it until it dies. It doesn't necessarily mean the ability have to last until all planes die but you don't pay for it anymore until all planes die. The ability keeps the same duration, same cooldown but you don't pay munition until all planes die. And even with that I'm not sure it would still be balanced, heavy tank can be repaired for free and get veterancy bonuses while abilities don't. Another solution would be to simply remove heavy tanks from doctrines and put them in tech structure like the King Tiger. So we can elaborate balance around being sure everyone have access to them and balance doctrines around abilities and not those units. In: Lobby |
