My opinions is not, we had both lot of successes and failures during the game. He probably call it RNG because I manage to save my tanks every time (except from his stuka strike, I was microing somewhere else)
So I saved my tanks sometime in the edge... But he also manages to save his squads the same way, many times I my shots didn't made any damage to his troops. And if I remember well I OS one of his grenadiers, but that because of the pacing.
Now I agree with some people here, there are many ways to put a limit to the RMG variable, Uppor and Lower limits. The problem isn't the RNG by itself but thats it isn't controlled at all.
That's incredible how people are getting crazy around that stuff. I hope I don't break any NDA if I say I loled hard when I read some comments on the alpha forum about that shit.

Except they hit the field 5 CP later, with no vet and at a high cost.
That is pretty terrible unless you constantly wiped opponents squads to erase his vet and upgrades, ass guards are no better then ppsh conscripts when they arrive and in a lot of areas perform even worse.
The unit is terrible, its a 0 CP unit who arrives at 5 as was already said.
I can imagine Relic Devs while designing it and Reco USF commanders.
1st guy - I would like to give Sov and USF a call-in truck as Ostheer has but I don't know how to get it not too early to not push to much their early dominance.
2st guy - Put a random expensive unit on it, something that can do anything good at CP5, so the truck is expensive and the cp call-in is not overpowered.
1st guy - Get it! I'll put 2 close range squads that will get their ass ripe out from anything on the field at the stage of the game they arrive.

I am sorry there buddy but this is where you are totally wrong. Relic did take a risk by letting just anyone into alpha. I have a friend on my friends list that is in alpha and has only 200Hrs played. So this guy that has 200 hours played is going to contribute a lot to the alpha community I'm sure. More so than a player that has played the game for 3 years, knows the ins and outs of the games. Sure makes a lot of sense there. thanks -

Lol, sounds like jealousy. If Relic wants to anchor his community, they better offer access to the Alpha to any player willing to test it rather than selecting only the top of the top. Thats pretty much the best thing to do right now to increase their fame.
People whose opinion matter to them are probably in the Alpha, invited personally. Or where there in the pre-public Alpha already.
As far as I see it, they made changes, and they need to collect data to see how they work together, opinion people on forum will probably have little impact in their decision making apart from the obvious broken changes.
Whether I am wrong or not I don't care. I couldn't care less about the alpha, i didnt even apply for it anyway because alpha tester feedback is usually ignored anyway, plus I'm not gonna waste my time trying to play a game thats even more badly balanced than the vanilla game. What I am right about is the absolute shitstorm of balance this game has had to suffer through since release. Atleast I'm not blindly supporting everything relic does, despite them clearly not giving a shit about multiplayer for the longest time. Relic is shit, coh2 would be better in another devs hands.
@Ciez, don't get butthurt, me thinking relic does a shit job isn't because all my friends in the alpha who leaked me the notes on the british are supposedly lying to me and altered all the notes. Its because balance has been so shit and relic purposefully ignores or just is so incompetent that when they do try to change shit they hardly get it right the first time. Shit patch quality, and shit patch frequency. Whats truly laughable is trying to balance another faction when relic can't even handle the 4 already in game. Hurr #lelic
There is personal opinion and there are agreements. I don't have a high opinion of Relic and its capability to manage their game. I don't think the game will be more balance when the Alpha will be release and I'm pretty sure its going to be a mess for months. In fact I don't like much what I see in the alpha except from some specific points that could have been release in a simple patch and have nothing to do with the aspect number 1 purpose of the alpha.
But that doesn't give me the right to breach their NDA. Same if I found those NDA pretty stupid as well.
Advantages so statistically marginal it may as well be a rounding error. PiV misses the first shot, you win. PiV gets a rear armour hit first, they win. etc. etc. In the grander context Shermans can be replaced, and aren't as big a loss as often as your only PiV will be; again due to the numbers already cited in the thread. There's a lot more implied equity at stake with the PiV, way too much to be psyched about going into a coinflip of a tank duel.
Replace the word PzIV by T34 or Sherman and you're going to the same argumentation with a worst result.
PzIV is the best of the 3 tanks and it has the best veterancy. it also has the best survivability vs other T4 tank destroyers, SU85 and M36. A sherman alone or a T34 alone cannot do anything vs a panther.
Now it doesn't outclass completely his fellow but it arrives at the right time to support your pak vs the sherman and the T34 + shreck and faust.
Ostheer teching includes MG42, Sniper, Mortar and Pak + panzergrenadiers.
Additionally: LMG42, Flamthrower, mines AT & AI and shrecks + faust.
I'm not saying that its better or worst than Sov or USF, just saying you're not only paying for a PZ4. And a I have only expose stuff that doesn't need fuel to be built.
Now, at the end, the Pz4 is better than T34 and Sherman, it has a unique type of shell that deal AT and AI + good vet abilities. and since the last patch it gained survivability vs M36.
I don't know what do you want more.
