Thread: Need Help - Infantry Squad Size and Durability Analysis 18 Jul 2015, 05:07 AM IIRC Grenadiers have .91 received accuracy, versus 1.25 received accuracy for Osts. Against certain units, like the soviet sniper, Osttruppen have a straight forward edge over grenadiers - it will take 6 shots to take them down, instead of four. Same for mortars - Osts have a definite advantage because they are harder to 1-shot. Against other units, I'm a lot less clear on how to compare the two. Is it fair to say that Osts have 50% more squad members, and that is mitigated a little bit by them being about 33% easier to shoot than grenadiers? Could one with some accuracy say that against small arms fire Osts are about 12% more durable than grens? This thread isn't really about Osttruppen. I'd also be interested in durability of cons versus grens, etc. In: COH2 Gameplay

Meaning that the percentage can jump around from 66%~ without a fuel point to up to 71%~ with a fuel point. However the base income can be discounted as it's just a starting point and all other factions will still have a lead on all other fuel incomes. Cache income is decreased as well, which is why it's so funny that people complain about it because an OKW player will benefit at a reduced rate so if everyone has an equal amount of caches OKW will still be at a fuel income disadvantage. You're missing the main point which is that with equal map control OKW will have around 75% of their opponent's fuel income, not 66%. The base income cannot be discounted as it a significant portion of the fuel each faction receives. If you think I'm wrong, show me a screen shot of a replay where an OKW player is getting 66% of the fuel their Wehrmacht ally is getting. You won't be able to because that situation basically never occurs in the actual game. In: COH2 Balance

In actual game situations, isn't the OKW fuel penalty closer to 75-80% of other factions? Due to fuel caches from Wehr allies (common in 2v2 games to get at least one) and the fact that OKW fuels the normal 4/minute base fuel income. For instance, in a game I recently played, me (Wehr) and my teammate (OKW) were a bit on the back foot for map control but had a fuel cache up. Fuel income broke down like this: Wehr fuel: 19 OKW fuel: 22 In this case, the OKW player was getting 86% of the fuel from that map control. Earlier in the game, when we had a natural fuel point but no cache, it was like this: Wehr fuel: 17 OKW fuel: 23 In this case, the OKW player got about 73% of the fuel the Wehr player did. Looking at actual in-game numbers, the OKW fuel works out to probably no worse than 75% of the fuel normal factions get. Based on this, if we are going to adjust OKW unit prices to reflect the fuel penalty, we should multiply by 1.33 (.75 * 1.33 = ~1), rather than 1.5. In: COH2 Balance

Wait now I am confused. I've been avoiding the Luft incendiary strike as well as the shock rifle one because I thought they sucked now. NorthWeapon are you saying that those abilities were indeed adjusted? I realize that flamethrowers were adjusted rather than straight up nerfed, but my understanding was that in doing so, Relic accidentally straight up nerfed molotovs and incendiary barrages. In: Lobby

Thread: COH 2 is not a Strategy Game !!!12 Jul 2015, 21:10 PM Dealing with "RNG" can be part of a strategy game - real life generals, sports coaches, or team captains never know exactly what will come out of a situation. Being able to calculate chances of different actions or effects is a completely valid part of a strategy. Would you say there's no strategy in real life war because the opposing commanders don't have 100% foreknowledge of weather effects, what their soldiers will do in given situations, etc? Thread: Reduce T85 reload time 12 Jul 2015, 17:20 PM Agreed that T-34/85 needs buff. In the last 5 games I played, there was one that did not involve Guard Motor Coordination. Not having Guard Motor doc in every game is bad design and makes for poor game play. Along with this I think Soviet T3/T4 needs a hefty fuel cost increase to promote call-in based strategies for soviets. In: COH2 Balance

I always play 2v2 with an OKW ally, so as Ostheer, my main concern is just to build up a big force of medium tanks to support the heavier OKW armor. So a P4 command tank + STUGs and P4s with spotting scopes fits what I need. The LeFH having at least some use would still help a lot, of course, and that's why I started this thread. In: COH2 Gameplay
