Hello all, just wanted to chip in on the conversation!
As a big fan of the Partisan Tactics, I am glad people are putting more thought into the commander. However, I do hold the opinion that the tactics is fine for how it is. Any improvements I've seen mentioned (better scaling, more RA, extra models for partisan squads) are all nice to have, but I feel like betrays the main theme of the tactics. Partisans squads are not meant to function like main line infantry and I would rather any improvements aim towards alternative perks.
I won't prattle on about how you should use them, but rather direct an observation I made. Any real reason they feel weak is because a certain change to them resulted in them losing the ability to counter the very things they're meant to be extremely effective at removing.
Some patches ago, Partisan squads were all nerfed with the cooldown on spawn for all grenades. Which while reasonable, also neuters their surprise factor. AI Partisans with PPSh alone will not be able to clear out weapon crews fast enough, AT Partisans would likely fire one rocket before a vehicle gets away. Now while I don't think removing cooldown on spawn is great for the AT partisans, I am all for it for the AI partisans. Without the grenades on spawn (especially against units in buildings), they hold fairly low shock factor, and I find myself more often spawning them outside of combat to plant mines and stalk.
And that is the other factor I thought would do better worked on. Planting mines is one of the reasons why I love commanders that have them. They provide a great deal of help in securing flanks, and AT-Partisans with a land mine and good cover will even contest a medium tank. AI Partisan, on the other hand, still feel somewhat unreliable even with the advantage of ambush. Therefore, I think a bandaid solution would be adding the anti infantry land mine to their arsenal. That, or some kind of ability that would improve their ability to protect flanks. I don't know the answer to this one. Maybe giving them an ability similar to forced retreat, since it could be like them scaring off infantry with a surprise ambush?

Hey all, I was just reminded by my buds how way back there was female partisan models that showed up 50/50 to the male version. I don't recall the reason, but is there any chance we could get them back? I miss their voice lines, it had a stronger confidence than the male ones that I felt was more fitting for the freedom fighters. Would the team currently maintaining the game be willing or able to add them back? I've added a poll as well to see if I'm alone or not on this matter. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Oh jeez I know it's self indulgent to theory craft on what could replace these abilities but what if we had it as a toggle-able ability like what it used to be like for the OKW? As in, another way for this to work is by having this ability reduce manpower cost to reinforce, but so long as it is active, it will reduce income of other resources. Weird concept, but maybe have Rapid conscription/relief infantry work as an indirect bonus rather than straight up free units? Specifically, the idea I had in mind was that if any infantry (not crews) gets reinforced at the headquarter (and HQ only) will have indefinite sprint until they arrive at any of the frontline sectors (as in any sector of the map that is attached to an opponent's captured sector). That way, the idea of fast reinforcement is still there, but works mechanically as allowing you to get retreating squads back in action. Thus achieving A) The CoH tradition of preserving units rather than throwing them away B) Thematicall appropriate effect without upsetting balance The only thing I can think of is how that may be abused. How? Can't say, but there's probably something like bugs, et cetera if not properly implemented. Edit: Forgot to add that this is meant to become a passive rather than active. I've had a few fun conversation with friends over the pickups and upgrades that you can get for all the infantry in the game. In the end, we all had a few of our favorite setups that is possible in the game but rarely ever occurs/preserved. For example, I personally really love it when PPSh conscripts get their hands on a flamethrower. It absolutely melts things at close range, and since it has a flamethrower, the attack command is set to the perfect range by automatic, thus making it all the less micro intensive. A buddy of mine preferred heavy sappers from the hammer mixed with an LMG34, but I'm not sure I've ever actually seen that happen. What about you guys? Care to share? In: Lobby |

1. Why have OKW not a good AT? raketen was ok when volks had schrecks....now they lost it, OKW armor was nerfed hard...okw has no good AT ...even the jagdpz4 was nerfed...it is so slow, that it will be flank from all other and the poor accurracy while turning is a joke....remind: it has no turrent and turns nearly slow like a elephant...puma is not that good while even pistole dmg it and mostly every allie infantery can equip handheld AT I'm just going to weigh in a few, though I don't believe my perspective is entirely accurate since I mainly play the base game factions the most in matchmaking. Even so, I do play plenty custom matches within groups that gave me a whirl at every faction. 1. OKW certainly does not lack as much AT as you may like to believe. Raketen, consistency aside, is the only camoed AT gun that can crawl forward to cloak cap points as well as set up ambushes. Plenty of games where I lost a vet 3 light armor or even medium armor because it strolled into two cloaked raketenwerfers that get off two volleys. It's fairly reliable AT gun if you are more nimble with positioning, unlike pak40s that may do far better being static and holding major angles down. Jagdpanzer4 is a tricky thing, and I'm surprised so many complain about it without noting the virtues. First off, it's the only medium tank hunter with 230 frontal armor. That's pretty good on deflection chances against most medium non-TD tanks. Granted, vet 2 nerf on even more armor is unfortunate, but you get accuracy buff instead, which was a consistency issue before. Also, last I checked, the Jagdpanzer4 is rather good on rotation speed. Not sure what made you feel that it's bad at turning. Puma's not terrible, but the damage it deals is a bit weak. Ever since they nerfed puma's target weak point and machine gun, it is seeing a whole lot less action. 2. 120 mm is cancer, but I don't know what would be a good means of nerfing it without blasting it into obscurity. 3. Cons are cheap and the PPsh gives them a very good close range damage. However, they're only good for assaulting. When it comes to holding ground, any other upgraded infantry would be a far better choice. They do have a ton of utility, but when you consider that Soviets don't have much in non-doctrinal infantry options outside of Cons and Penals, I find that it's a necessity. 4. IS double weapon carry is being looked at last I checked. Wasn't smith going to force all squads to carry only 1 weapon at a time? 5. Jackson buff is strong, but dearly needed for the poor US who pretty much has no late game unless they invest in a pershing or cheese with a calliope. A little more hitpoint at the cost of 20% damage nerf seems acceptable to me. This is a good change for US players since this means OKW and even Wermacht can't just turtle for late game armor and expect an easy win. In: COH2 Balance |

Never had problems dodging nades. The occasional clump wipe due to retreat is also possibly due to opponent ranging the nade on retreat path. I do it pretty often when players just twitch react retreat. Audio cues is a good point though, but I don't find it consistent enough to weigh in an opinion on. In: COH2 Balance |

If you can kamikaze your tank and not lose it, you've probably already won. And which faction are you suggesting is fixing too fast? Which unit? Or do you mean repair in general?
