Hey fellow Ostheer players,
Was it really necessary? German infantry was my favourite commander. Love infantry in general, liked to fool around with the halftrack in early game, 5 man pioneer squads with flamethrower etc.
However, with the recent nerf, the back bone of the doctrine, 5 men grens with G43, now just feels inferior to the MG42. Squad Leader bonus nerfed, and the StG44 feels completely wrong on Grens, they are not a unit that is supposed to assault.
What is this text even supposed to mean?:
"Veteran Squad Leader upgrade is also being adjusted to make the squad less potent, rather than a straight improvement over the LMG 42 upgrade."
I mean come on, it's a commander that is dedicated to infantry, of course it needs to be an improvement over the LMG? What is the point of the commander now?
This is not supposed to be rant, I am just kinda sad for my boys Press F.
I know there hasn't been alot of time for testing yet, but do you think there is any use for this commander now?
They are now just worse volks but with rifle grenades, the only reason to get them is for free healing and the somewhat better survivability and with the slight decrease cost of the grenadier healing its prob not worth it.
Panzergrenadiers can now throw smoke while upgraded idk if its new cuz I seldom upgrade them.
VSL is too cancer for allies who got the best infantries in the game, they don't want to see ostheer mimicking their blob attack move and with the t4 building it is cost effective. VSL before is like a tank with turret while the lmg need to stop and aim.
You can still probably play them like the encirclement doctrine who skip t1 and goes for mg,pg,stormtrooper,222 or 1 VSL and 2 lmg grenadiers
Yes, I absolutely get your point, but I just wantet to give a historical background to my claims, the rest of my post is pure argumentation based on gameplay. I think everyone can agree that IS-2s pickrate is very low and it's just a bad tank overall. That's why I want it to be changed
Remember sibling rivalry bulletin, in this game IS-2 and tiger1 meant to be equal but now they are both equally bad in tigers case you are pretty much building a slower p4 and with its fuel cost its arrives late on the game and get countered very easily. IS-2 on the other hand had a better alternatives like the KV2/ISU, the only reason you'll build this is when the other commander skills are verygood on the current map or pretty much as a support unit same with tiger
Pershing is ok but ... basically the other USF commanders are way too good
You know realism here is not really a factor in balance unless you want a mg42 to kill every infantry very fast and ofcourse they will be also be not nearsighted, t34 will be much worse than it is , panzerfaust can instagib your puny tanks etc.
I've recently experienced the close air support commander and I must tell that the recon strafe is quite fast, and in reality to fast to be good.
The vision area is too restricted for this flight speed so in order to adress this problem one can either reduce the flight speed (thus making it more vulnerable to AA) or make the vision area wider.
Personnaly I'd prefer a slower flight speed, plus it might be easier to just change the number for the flight speed than for the vision area.

Jokes aside I'm very happy command p4 and the close air support commander is gettting updated.
Small arm fire is hitscan and doesn't have projectiles.
Firing through smoke would render smoke useless against MGs.
If you have issues with unpacking MGs, use attack command instead of clicking on enemy units.
someone said MG's have 0 splash damage so would do nothing except at pointblank range is this wrong?

The mg34 can get created immemediatly out of the gate, it can pin in a wide arc and a mile away, and after much crying from the AXIS players(mainly those greyshot brothers, crying on youtube), can now kill as well. Allies counter? You can mortar it, but, Axis has a "counter barrage" ability, a counter to your counter. Russian players could run up there AT gun and barrage it, not now, thats nerfed, it cant kill anything, so is a useless AT gun at this point. USF can use the pack howitzer, but, its locked behind a mechanized upgrade, oh, way too late for any use in 4v4. Have no idea what the Brits counter is, only used'em a couple times. Oh yeah, you can try to get some pointers on youtube by watching Helping Hans or any of those guys, all playing a friendly game of army men, fainting and jabbing with their tanks for 2 hours, everybody doing what their suppose to do on both sides. They all need to go play 4v4 with random people that dont do anything their suppose to do, and see how good they are then. 4v4 is where its at.
If you really like mg and only play allies for some reason because racism, spam maxim and at guns as russian then skip to t3 and build kv8. 2 zisgun firing at a mg with not max range can still reliably kill anysort of stationary infantry. Playing with randoms in 4v4 is indeed the hardest to carry out of all teamgames so you need to be much better than the others if you want to rankup reliably. Ex. carrying the game by winning a 2v1, or atleast securing a fuel point with vp.
Try playing ostheer/okw first before saying AXIS op nerf plz
In my opinion every unit should have attack ground ability, units for example like
the sniper can attempt to hit a cloaked sniper however he will likely to die if it failed.
mgs can fire through smoke as an attempt to kill any units foolhardly enough to charge literally in front of him and etc.
Hold fire on every units can be neat, it can allow for more sneaky plays and punish unfocused players. (in reality this might be impossible because I'm quite sure many will be trigger happy) looking at conscripts
A skill on mg for it to be locked in place and unable to move, manually selecting a target and missing by a pixel makes the mg unpack is quite annoying

Basically enemy team use reveal fog of war, spawning shermans near the end...
there is a colored letters in chat that the cheat is used, people actually admitted they cheated at the end
Since the tank callins are now tied to the tech buildings, there is really no reason to call in this tank instead of a panzer 4 aside from the chaos we know as team games.
Make the panzer 4 command tank gr8t again by making it able to hit the field once Leichte Support Kompanie up and the command points available, and ofcourse the commander. Building this tank will delay teching up to tier 2 but it can cause some havoc and a nice variety like the old days where it can be used this way.
Panzer 3 command tank can now upgrade with a Panzer commander to allow artillery barrages however can only build if t3 is up.
Command Panzer, Panzer crew will sacrifice combat performance to coordinate nearby infantry, improving their effectiveness basically same as command tiger and will get on vet 1. move to vet 3 if "op" however can only build if t3 is up.
Make it basically a panzer 4 by just increasing more resource needed.
Make it like the command panther with even better bonuses than a vanilla panzer 4 as a panzer 4 but increasing even more resource required.
