I really hope this doesn't mean the changes currently implemented are the only really big changes coming. I think that's gonna leave out a lot of commanders that just need a little boost to be relevant. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - Ostheer Feedback9 Apr 2021, 19:59 PM I hope something can be done with some of the more lackluster commanders like CAS and Assault Support. They have fallen behind other commanders that share the appeal of them (CAS feels much worse than Luftwaffe Supply and Assault Support is larger outclassed by Spearhead). Also remove the AT strafe from Jaeger Armor it's way to good still. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - USF Feedback9 Apr 2021, 19:35 PM Sad to see no more abitlies being tested out in the updated patch. Rifle Company still needs something more like a M3 Halftrack and changes like that should be done sooner rather than later. Larger changes need more time to be balanced and now another patch has gone with just 4 tweaks to the US commanders in total. Also yeah M10 with a lowered target size could be a good way to improve it. Seems like it should be lower for a quick moving and fragile TD. In: COH2 Balance

That smoke is HUGE for infantry pushes and softening positions before pushes. ML/20 is a great support tool next patch. Yeah that's fair. I aminly was thinking you would want something maybe a little more immediately impactful to follow up the strong early-mid game due to PPSH cons and Penals backed up by team weapons. In: COH2 Balance

It would give the doctrine something really unique to OKW by having a cheaper (and arguably the weakest) medium. It also fits insanely well flavor wise. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - Soviet Feedback9 Apr 2021, 17:26 PM On second look I think reserve army actually pushes a really unique play style that no other commander really supports. T1 + Conscripts or mixing Penals and Conscripts might not be incredibly strong but it is a very unique play style that the commander pushes. I think it doesn’t need a rework but could benefit from exchanging the ML20 for something else. The artillery doesn’t fit the best in this infantry based doctrine and doesn’t contribute much to the commander unless your just looming for artillery in team games. Some sort of late game call in like an artillery strike, a buff like for the motherland, or even maybe something crazy like the IS2 could probably be a good improvement to the doctrine and make sure this unique play style has the best chance to see some use. The weapons come too late a 3CP for them to be stalled out too as well. Either the PPSH package needs to effect penals as well in some way (like G43 with Grens/Pgrens) maybe give them the PPSH from the airborne commander or a single DP28 that locks out other weapon pick ups. The weapon drop should be replaced with a call in from T1 either the M3 or a Sniper to better synergise with T2. And on a barely related note. The PPSH Penals in Airborne need smoke or Urrah because right now they lack any kind of to get close to machineguns. This is compounded by that when you go Penals you will not likely have smoke mortars. Yeah add me as a third to that sentiment. The only build that even makes any sense with the commander is going T1 for sniper and clown car then just going conscripts. It’s a very specific build that I don’t think will ever work out. There needs to be a commitment to one of the other strategies instead of trying to stacked the line imo. Personally I think the commander should just be reworked almost from the ground up because it’s one of the worst designed ones imo. I know they said no new units but they did add the Luftwaffe field officer ostheer. In the files there are voice lines for a special Guard T34-85 so maybe that could be made into something? It could probably just be a T-34-85 but with extra abilities and effects added on like the Tiger Ace and what not. That could really be a standout feature of Reserve Army doctrine if it gets reworked. In: COH2 Balance

You can't have dual shreck on cheap 6 man platform. They wouldn't have an AT package. Only the G43 that comes with Schwerer. At least that was the idea.
