Thread: Capture the Flag Gamemode24 Jun 2014, 02:38 AM Was this added as an official map in automatch? At first I saw it in the veto list and I thought "weird, maybe I should clean my workshop maps". So I removed it, but it's still there listed in automatch. Is that just me, or is it official? Edit: Nevermind, it redownloaded as I was still subscribed to it. But I've never seen a custom map show up in the automatch list. This CTF mode does appear in there though if it's downloaded. In: Map Sharing
Thread: help please~~~~~24 Jun 2014, 02:27 AM Only certain textures apply negative cover - I believe these are found in the texture folders with "road" in their name (nm_road_dirt, nm_road_trim, stone_road, road_asphalt). Also not sure what you mean by grass removed where they built the tier. I think you mean there is a dirt splat underneath the buildings they're building - I can't imagine any way around that. Thread: Scar Code table and Events10 Jun 2014, 00:31 AM You can add it in. That map has some preexisting changes in the scar code too, so make sure you keep those in. It's just setting some entities to invulnerable. Side note - I was playing around with the idea of tunnels with that map and there is a flaw. Units inside tunnels can't be hit with mortar shells or artillery from above, but they can still shoot mortarshells/artyshells up through the roof themselves. So it's a bit buggy in that regard. It was also my first map so it's rough around the edges. Feel free to make changes. In: Mapping Discussion
Thread: Scar Code table and Events10 Jun 2014, 00:06 AM Feel free to use one of my maps from the workshop if you wish. I don't have any unreleased - I have one WIP but it has WFA content so it's not playable right now unless you have the alpha. I'm not sure what you mean by suitable for convoys though since I'm not entirely sure what your script does... I can only imagine there is some kind of AI convoy roaming the map which makes me think you need a map where such a counvoy can continuously go in a circle? Or would they be able to spawn in, go in a straight line across the map, then spawn out if they make it safely? Thread: A few strange issues with my first map.3 Jun 2014, 18:03 PM Yeah setting an object to visual always sets it to it's vanilla state (no damage). Visual objects also "have" 1hp, so the first hit from a tank or mortar shell will cause it to go into its Destroy state. Anyway, place your bunker and make sure it's selected. Go to Groups at the top of the worldbuilder and click create entity group. Name the group anything you want. Make sure your bunker object is added to the group in the little menu that comes up. And then save the map (don't export it yet). Go to the folder you saved it in and there should be a file called "YOURMAP_ID.scar". Open it with notepad or another text editor and add the line "EGroup_SetSelectable(YOURENTITYGROUP, false)" underneath "-- [[ Entity Groups ]]". Save the file, go back to worldbuilder and export the map. Anytime you save your map it will remove your changes to the scar file so you have to do that everytime before you export. Thread: (2 - 2) Mountain Top Obliteration27 May 2014, 00:02 AM I gave it a go. You got the atmosphere down, and it's really nice. Colours and mood are great. Here's some stuff I think you should keep in mind for your next map. Try not to make mountains or hills too steep and high. It messes with the camera views and means players will have to rotate their camera a lot. The mountains on the edge of your map weren't a problem, it was mostly the ones in the middle causing some issues. Also, when you have mountains like that, units can still see through and shoot through the terrain. You should use LoS and Shot blocker objects/splines to prevent that so that they act like real mountains. Take a look at Tip of the Week #10, it will explain how the blockers work and their advantages. Very useful for when you want to use terrain to block units sight. Keep it up! In: Map Sharing
Thread: (2 - 4) Overgrowth26 May 2014, 23:46 PM Also, I dig the texturing and detail you put into the map. The fuel and munition points seem fairly balanced, despite the northern section being a bit resource heavy (but balanced out with the cutoff point near mid). I was expecting the use of mud though when I first saw the screenshots but I didn't see it used anywhere in the map. I know there aren't many people who are fans of mud, but I think if used properly it could really add to the atmosphere of the map. In: Map Sharing
